Maybe a 1940s serial that changed his name, a couple of 1970s TV pilots about his imaginary son, and a low-budget 1990 movie that never got a US release.
You know the internet is likely filled with all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories as well in regards to where he went to. Like that one with Steve Rogers living on the moon.

The Russos talked to Empire Magazine about the importance of Dr. Doom and Steve Rogers (again, not referred to as Captain America) in Doomsday (quotes courtesy of ScreenRant):
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Anthony and Joe Russo spoke about Doctor Doom bringing a new level to the MCU with Avengers: Doomsday, sharing how "We also run at the complexity and the difficulty of what these movies can do at a narrative level. I think we've found a new level of that in Doomsday.” They elaborated that "Victor von Doom demands a certain tone."
However, the Avengers: Doomsday cast will also see the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, as he was revealed in one of the trailers in 2025. The directing duo commented on bringing the MCU veteran back, stating, “We have a special affinity with the character, we can’t see this narrative without his central role in it basically. The special place he holds among the ensemble, he sort of retains that moving forward.”
I'm curious. Why are people focused on that? OK, so it might not be the same Steve we knew before. And we could say that Steve was still Captain America for a long time before he gave the shield to Sam. But in the 616 world and in the Marvel Studio business world we live in, Sam is Captain America now. It makes sense to me that they call him Steve since he gave the shield up the last time we saw him.
I suspect that they have no clue how much of an indictment against the MCU these comments are.
You and I get that but there are some people here who are so hung up on the idea of Steve returning is an insult to Sam (and Anthony Mackie). I keep emphasizing that Evans is returning as Steve and not Cap to highlight what I assume (yes, just an assumption) is his intended role in the film.

Yes, at first Steve was THE Captain America. But like in the comics, the MCU has shifted to Captain America not being a character but a title. The characters are Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Bucky (granted, not a Captain America in the movies.....yet).
So Steve WAS a Captain America, now Sam is. People who keep insisting bringing Steve back is an insult Sam are, in a way, claiming that means there's only one Captain America and that that's Steve.
The rest of us accepted Sam as Cap and also accept it's just Steve coming back.
Man, I can't wait for the usual suspects to tell me how wrong I am.

To me, not making a sequel to Shang Chi, one of the best post-Endgame Marvel outings (certainly the best to feature mostly new characters) is one of the bigger missteps Marvel has made.
Shang Chi is one of my top 5 Marvel films. I absolutely love it. Not having a sequel borders on criminal
