Do we know if the ending of Secret Wars will play into this, or the government stuff we saw in Wakanda? Or does this movie set up Thunderbolts*?

*WTF does the title have an asterisk?

They can't stick to their guns, that's what. They're 100% ranting about how terrible it would be and gave it no consideration and then changed at the drop of a pin.

I don't know about that. I'm looking at the comments on another forum thread and those who were sh*tting on this movie when it was announced are still saying it looks like cr*p. They make a couple of members here look positively tame by comparison.

I've been working on the assumption that the film sets up Thunderbolts*. I don't think anything is confirmed one way or the other.

Feige says there's a very good reason for it.

Given that The Marvels directly contradicted Secret Wars by showing that the Skrulls had indeed found a new homeworld, I'm kind of hoping it's non-canonical.

I wonder if it has something to do with the comics version where the Thunderbolts were villains pretending to be heroes -- so it's an asterisk in the sense of "not quite what it says" or "with qualifications."

Yeah, I remain 100% convinced Thunderbolts* is going to try some kind of bait and switch as a form of spiritually adapting the original Thunderbolts #1 where the audience doesn't know they're looking at villains pretending to be heroes until the final scene.

It won't be that all the heroes actually are villains, obviously (not with this cast of characters), but there will be something big that's not what it appears. The asterisk is probably related to that.

I'm guessing you meant 'Secret Invasion' which I doubt will ever be mentioned again. Hell, 'The Marvels' pretty much contradicted it outright.

For the "*" I'm guessing at the very end of the movie the title change from 'Thunderbolts' to 'Dark Avengers'; which is what happened with the comic IIRC.

LOL--I'd put that out of my mind. Was there no hand-waving explanation as to why the colony existed?

That makes total sense.

Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers were always two separate books (and teams).

Brave New World Story Leaks/rumours
Japan seemingly having a big part in the movie reminds me rumours/leaks I saw a while back, that Japan is going to find a source of either vibranium or adamantium (I can't remember which) and Ross is trying to get access to it.

I agree with Darren....unless Anwar, you can name some names. Just because one group of "fans" complain... whÿ isn't it possible (or really probable) it is AnOTHER set of fans speaking loud with a differing opinion.

Probably vibranium, since -- unless they change it -- adamantium is an artificially created steel alloy, not a naturally occurring substance. After all, it's indestructible, so they couldn't forge or shape it unless it were a mixture of other substances that only became indestructible once the mixture hardened.

I've heard GW Bridge suggested. But I'll only accept that if they put him in this outfit at some point.

No prizes for guessing who drew that masterpiece!
Remember kids. don't take steroids.
But do take anatomy.

If the rumours are true then it's probably the first and not the second as 20th Century might still holds the rights to it.
