I saw the new Avatar tonight, and the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday was there. But let me stress this, if Marvel doesn't release it (and the others) online, don't buy a ticket for Avatar just for the teaser(s). It is barely a teaser, more like an announcement trailer telling us that Steve Rogers will indeed return.
Did you see an early showing? Or is it already out in countries other than the US? I thought the 19th was a worldwide date.

It opened today (Wednesday) here in Germany. That is, the traditional release weekday here in Germany is Thursday, so Wednesday night screenings are similar to the North American Thursday night previews, and while the screening started at 6:30 pm local time, that's probably due to the length of the movie. It was after ten that I got out of the theater.

Oh, OK. It get confusing sometime with different countries getting release dates, and then special Amazon early screenings and things like that.

Dances With Aliens.

And Pocahontas. I mean, I enjoyed the first one for what it was; a gorgeous movie to watch. Story-wise there is nothing there. After 10 minutes of the first one I turned it off because I just felt disconnected to everything on screen.

Who is left to announce? I know that Scarlett Johansson had her challenges but she settled that lawsuit and I am sure that dumper trucks of money are parked outside her house.

I wonder if the plot is that cannon fodder and the b-listers get wiped out and some survivors travel the multi-verse and bring the popular characters (Cap, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Spider-Man etc) together at the end of the first one to set up the second one?

I feel like they have to save some of these reunions for Secret Wars, and an alternative Nat would be a good thing to drop there.

As it is, I don't know how they're going to balance the OG Avengers, the Sam Wilson Avengers, the "New Avengers," the Fox X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the randos like Namor. Seems like either the movie will be three hours long, have an incoherent plot, or some of the characters will be glorified cameos.

I think the OG avengers have to be towards the end of movie - just to hype people for the next one and sell tickets.

The b-listers likely are the main bit of film and the Fantastic Four?

If you look at how long people like Alan Cummings say they were on set - which is days - most of these appearances are cameos. Likely as their earths get wiped out.

Infinity War and Endgame did excellent jobs of juggling multiple teams with a coherent plot. Considering Doomsday and Secret Wars have the same writers and directors, I think having faith in them repeating the same is result is earned.

Yup, agreed with that. I imagine Doomsday will focus primarily on the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and Sam Wilson's Avengers, with the X-Men serving some sort of supporting role later on in the film.

They just have to get past Hawkeye's denial.

I'm not a shipper by any means, but there have to be many, many fan stories about them, considering he obviously loved her more than his wife.

I dunno. The whole Steve Rogers has a child thing seems like something to open the movie with, not end it.

I don't think he'll "be Cap" in the movie, but I think he's pretty much got to be a main character now.

Yeah, it's really hard to see how the X-Men are going to play a major role in the movie. They're the obvious ones to turn into glorified cameos, save whoever the hell they want to try to save for battleworld.

I don't think it's on the same scale. In Infinity War, you basically had the space stuff and the earthbound stuff being juggled. Endgame had mostly a single plot, other than the time heist in the middle, where the Avengers split up into groups of two to get each of the stones. You had a little over a dozen core characters for Infinity War with the number cut in half due to the snap in Endgame. Here you have like...30 to 40? Obviously the role of someone like Ghost, M'Baku, or Johnny Storm might be as inconsequential as Drax was in Infinity War. But still, there's more balls in the air.

We will only see a small cameo from Steve Rogers. Chis Evans will play that baby all grown up. Ion Rogers as Nomad. Though with some tinkering from the lore so he isn't also related to Arnin Zola. Just one theory.

I saw someone hypothesizing that Steve's baby is the mom of Star-Lord, making Steve his grandpa. :barf:
