It doesn't really do anything to disabuse the notion that actors are all a bunch of snowflakes.

If you can't handle criticism get a different job.

I would've liked Cage, Iron Fist and Shang Chi to have been back there in the 70s with him (assuming this is the case). I imagine they will be going with extended lifespan so they can get away with having Blade back in the day and in the modern MCU. I wouldn't mind an animated MCU 197X or something presented as a What If? or something to that effect.

Can we get Mahershala Ali in that overcoat and wraparound glasses?

IIRC Joe Carnaghan pitched a 70s-set Daredevil film. I think it was to Fox shortly before they lost the rights.

Captain Marvel, set in 1995, was a period piece. Madame Web is set in 2002, and people are calling it a period piece.

More than enough to qualify. Two decades or so is not an uncommon time frame for period pieces -- Hogan's Heroes, Happy Days, M*A*S*H, That '70s Show, etc. After all, it takes about that long for someone to mature from their formative years to the point where they've established themselves as writers or filmmakers and can tell stories about the things that shaped them in their formative years.

Heck, George Lucas's American Grafitti is very much a period piece, but it's set only 11 years before its release.

Kumail Nanjiani started seeing a therapist after reading too many bad reviews of Eternals.

I get reading critical reviews of things you are a part of can suck and hit you hard, but the dude also injected himself with enough PEDs to kill a horse. I'd be hesitant blaming emotional swings on professional critics saying a movie you were in wasn't very good when you have that as a contributing factor.

That sucks. The movie is awful, but I don't blame any of the actors. He's wrong about the movie being hated for nebulous "reasons" and not its overall quality though, the vast majority of people that hate Eternals, myself included, just think its a terrible movie.

I actually enjoyed the movie. I thought it was better than the usual MCU schlock. It's a pity that Nanjiani couldn't handle its unpopularity.

So Iger says that will cut the volume of what the the MCU produces - wonder what gets cut from a possible future slate.

I don’t think anything gets cut. More I reckon fewer additions to the slate will be announced and what is currently in the pipeline gets finished/released over a longer timescale

He actually said it months ago and people seemed to forget until he said it again yesterday.

No Eternals 2. No Armor Wars. Probably no Shang-Chi 2 at this point. No Young Avengers as they'll all be too damn old.

And most of the rumoured new TV shows / second seasons gone too. And everything in production/already shot delayed.

Is this all confirmed? Or just assumption?
I don't mean that in a belittling way. I honestly don't get all the movie news anymore.
