This is well known, even by some military service members, that war can be a very profitable business.
The desires of many humans.
Except the story sets them up as government funded so why would it be profitable for them? There is no connection made in the story to direct revenue streams or even bigger appropriations.
I liked various things about the movie.
I thought the attack on Tony's house and the air rescue sequence were good action set pieces. ( Despite the house attack using that special kind of missile that somehow never manages to kill anyone. )
I liked getting a Hulkbuster preview.
I liked the comedy moments, for the most part.
I liked not being spoiled for the Trevor thing. And it helped that Kingsley was a good sport and had gone on the talk show circuit saying "I'm the villain".
On the other hand, I felt Rhodey grated a bit; I didn't think the film's attempt to sell Killian as "I am the Mandarin" landed; I found myself wishing the end battle with all the suits had been in daylight so everything was easier to see and I couldn't help thinking that sequence was about selling toys.

It establishes them being needed.
I don't even like IM3 but I felt it was clear enough.
Did it say they could only have one source of funding? Maybe proving their effectiveness with government funding would've helped them attract other, paying clients.
Anyway, I still prefer to think that AIM was working for Hydra, like it does in the comics. Their attempt on the President could've been intended to facilitate the adoption of Project Insight. So whatever motives Killian claimed could've just been a cover, though it's equally possible that Hydra was using him without his knowledge.
And the villains in the first two MCU Spider-Man films were both motivated by Tony Stark, to some degree.
How is that any different from how Batman keeps fighting psychopaths who are "twisted reflections" of himself?
Not all are, though. Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Mr Freeze
Even iron man villains aren't. Mandarin, Ghost, Madame masque, beetle (if he counts)

Another report says that the China presales are currently at 5% of Captain Marvel presales.
That sound you hear is dumper trucks of cash being backed up to the houses of Chris Evans and RDjr.

If The Marvels bombs in the way that it appears it might, there will be panic because shareholders will be unhappy...one way to reassure them will be to say "look people who were in our most profitable films return!"
It could overperform but presales are generally a fairly good indicator of performance - it would need great legs just to break even. We'll see next weekend.
Pre sales really are not a good indicator. Text every one you know right now and ask if they pre-buy cinema tickets. 9 out of 10 will say no. It is the biggest load of bulliest bull crap ever.
