I hope this means that the movie is going more for the horror/suspense genre than the super-hero style.
One can only hope. Blade at his best (as originally intended) is a horror character, and its the very thing that made him distinctive...meaning not being another character molded for / ending up on the typical MCU conveyor belt. He had a presence and world all his own (on the horror side of the publisher), and I would interested in seeing that kind of 70s edge in this new adaptation of the character.
