I suppose it depends of how many would be ongoing shows with multiple seasons and how many are going to be just one and done. I suspect WandaVision will be the latter, probably a few of the others too, and if the release schedule is staggered over the course of years, it's probably not as much of an overload as it might sound.
Yeah, that's something I've thought about for awhile now. I highly suspect at least WandaVision and Loki's show to be one and done. Falcon and the Winter Soldier could go either way. Hawkeye, too, if only as a segue to the Young Avengers series/films. However, the other shows, such as Moon Knight, She Hulk, and Ms. Marvel, I expect to be ongoing as long as the viewership supports it (however Disney will gauge the audience). Even if Young Avengers become its own thing, I'd imagine Ms. Marvel continuing on her own.

Yeah, I'm not expecting second seasons of Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision or Hawkeye. Nor do I expect Mark Ruffalo* to have any involvement in She-Hulk beyond the first season.

*Not that Mark Ruffalo's involvement has been announced. However, his involvement with the show was rumored when the show itself was just a rumor, so I would be more surprised if he wound up not being involved to some extent.

The story that I would develop for She-Hulk would involve Tim Blake Nelson's Leader draining the gamma radiation, and therefore the Hulk, out of Bruce Banner for his own nefarious purposes. But, before he can put his evil plans into action, Bruce's cousin Jen Walters takes the power into herself instead, becoming She Hulk.

I would, of course, include Thunderbolt Ross in one form or another. And, yes, I would even like to bring back Liv Tyler's Betty Ross to give Bruce a happy ending.

I also read that Marvel is planning a dozen Disney plus projects that haven't even been announced yet.

I'm hoping for a Sub Mariner show!

Also, maybe some of those might involve "The Defenders Universe" formerly of Netflix characters. I'm still hoping for Heroes for Hire and/or Daughters of the Dragon show.

Plus a Punisher show that picks up where they more or less were, with him just getting rid of criminals.

Spider Ham!

if the Netflix characters ever made their way to Disney plus, they would be extremely watered down. If those shows and characters ever turn up again, I suspect they'll be on Hulu, which is more open to adult content and Disney just happens to own a majority stake in.

Based on the increasing numbers, I'm starting to suspect that very, very few of the MCU D+ will be ongoing. As in, What If? (which is cheap and not exactly connected to the mcu in the same way as the others) might honestly be the only one.

We may instead see the different mini-series building off each other. Ie, Young Avengers would functionally be the season 2 of Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Ironheart, etc. Then maybe after that Ms. Marvel would (co) star in some other mini-series that would be equivalent to her season 3.

Yeah, Betty most likely has her own life at this point, since it has been well over a decade. Besides 1) "woman as reward for man" is kinda gross and outdated, 2) IW/Endgame losses aside, Bruce is the happiest he's been since the accident, and 3) There are no happy endings.

I could see the Hawkeye show having legs.
I think a lot of people get the impression that it's going to be a show about Clint training Kate, when really it's most likely going to be a show about Kate being trained by Clint. The distinction being who's the focus of the story and who's a supporting character with less screen time and could be written out in season 2.

I guess it depends if the idea behind these shows is to help introduce characters so it's easier to just drop them into the movies, or for them to be properties in their own right.

Seems to me that Young Avengers might relate to the other shows the same way The Defenders did to the Netflix shows (and The Avengers to the movies, for that matter).

I was very pleasantly surprised when we heard they were planning for a second season of The Mandalorian, because I had pretty much assumed that these were all going to be one and done.

I think we also saw a brief mention around D23 that they had tons of ideas they could still explore in a second season of What If, so at the very least that's one that they are indeed open to a second season of.

I believe they even did that in the comics, with Kate starting out in NYC with Clint, but then eventually moving to LA by herself.

A unused take on a post credits scene from 2008 "Iron Man" has been unearthed.

Marvel had bigger plans than just the Avengers in 2008. In the extended version Nick Fury name dropped "radioactive bug bites" and "mutants"

Just as well they didn't use that version. Would've made it hard to introduce Spidey as a 15-year-old kid a decade later.

"You're not thinking 4th dimensionally!"

I think you're under the impression they would have still gone with a young kid route if Marvel had acquired Spidey earlier or still debuted him in a Civil War movie in the year 2015

We could theorize that if Marvel had acquired Spidey earlier we might not have had the Andrew Garfield movies

Lets say Spider-man gets his powers in 2008 and four years later graduates high school. After the Avengers movie phase they would introduce a young adult Spidey probably in college by that point.

They were going to put Oscorp Tower in Avengers and Avengers Tower in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe we were supposed to just assume that this meant that the Garfield Spider-Man movies took place in the MCU.

No, because I'm talking about a hypothetical where the only difference from our reality is that they used that alternate version of the Fury scene. If they had used that scene, and everything else had gone the same, then they would've had a continuity issue a decade later.

Cool alternate scene. Considering Marvel wasn't able to actually use Spidey or the mutants in whatever form through whatever deal, I'm glad they changed it. That and I think the one they actually used rolls out better than this one.

That's a silly assumption. Clearly they had a different idea and then decided that it wouldn't be possible to work something out with Fox and Sony.

?????? No need to be insulting. What if they hadn't decided that until after they finished the movie?

Besides, it was just an idle thought, not a carefully worked out dissertation. Lighten up, people.
