We kinda did.

300

The only thing Green Lanterny about them was their ship's barrier creator, which wasn't too dissimilar from Nova's ability without looking like a GL ripoff.

If Marvel wants to do a Nova movie starring Richard Rider (or whoever that more recent one is) then they'll do one, regardless of how James Gunn might feel about it.

I wonder if Shailene Woodley whom they hired to play Mary Jane in ASM2 is feeling pissed off at the Spider-Man news? Her scenes for the film were cut and she was expected to appear in ASM3.

Oh, I agree with that. I just said James Gunn thinks the character is stupid and he's not doing anything with him.

It wouldn't be that hard to do a Richard Rider Nova movie using GOTG as a basis. We could just have to Nova Corps expand their jurisdiction after the movie, and have them start recruiting people from other planets. According to the background stuff in Annihilation that was what happened in the comics. They originally just protected their homeworld, but then there was a big disaster, and after that they expanded out to the rest of the galaxy (possibly multiple galaxies).

I was referring to Richard Rider's origin, which is very similar to Hal Jordan's. Not to say that there aren't many other similarities.

^Oh, man, I can already see the tirade from "Cosmic Book News" over a decision like that. It's like a Richard Rider fan site disguised as a news site.

I don't think Marvel would use Richard Ryder; I think we would see the minority character Sam Alexander:

Thank you, couldn't remember his name when I mentioned him earlier. But honestly the idea that they would use Sam Alexander simply because he's a minority just brings me back to my earlier point about Peter Parker: assuming that Marvel ever adapts Richard Rider, what's preventing them from casting a minority actor in the role? Honestly, I prefer Richard's origin story over Sam's--yeah, I know it's very similar to Hal Jordan's, but that's kind of why I like it. It'd be amusing to see Marvel basically take Richard (or Sam, or heck, even an amalgamation of the two) and make the Green Lantern movie that Warner Bros. failed to do.

So that Hawkeye, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow who are safe from death in Avengers 2.

So unless they kill Hulk off I'm thinking the rumors of someones dying in AoU aren't going to pan out.
