We kinda did.

If Marvel wants to do a Nova movie starring Richard Rider (or whoever that more recent one is) then they'll do one, regardless of how James Gunn might feel about it.
The only thing Green Lanterny about them was their ship's barrier creator, which wasn't too dissimilar from Nova's ability without looking like a GL ripoff.
Thank you, couldn't remember his name when I mentioned him earlier. But honestly the idea that they would use Sam Alexander simply because he's a minority just brings me back to my earlier point about Peter Parker: assuming that Marvel ever adapts Richard Rider, what's preventing them from casting a minority actor in the role? Honestly, I prefer Richard's origin story over Sam's--yeah, I know it's very similar to Hal Jordan's, but that's kind of why I like it. It'd be amusing to see Marvel basically take Richard (or Sam, or heck, even an amalgamation of the two) and make the Green Lantern movie that Warner Bros. failed to do.I don't think Marvel would use Richard Ryder; I think we would see the minority character Sam Alexander:

I don't care who belongs to who, just as long as they don't make a main character out of Eros or Starfox or whatever he calls himself.
Cap 2 was already kinda Avengers 1.5Cap 3 is shaping up more and more to be Avengers 2.5 in all but name anyway.
