I just had a crazy thought, like, really, batshit crazy.
What if it's Peter who dies at the end of Civil War instead of Cap? That way 2017's Spidey film can be Miles?
Of course for that to have any real impact, it would make more sense to have Garfield return as Spider-Man, one last time.
Shades of the Ultimate-verse indeed.
Yeah, it's completely implausible either Sony or Marvel would go that route, Pete being the rainmaker name for the Spider-Man franchise, and both have invested so much time to work out the deal for the rights.
But a nerd can dream, right?
I kinda feel for Garfield, having the opportunity to play in the big leagues just slip through his grasp.
C'mon, Marvel, at least let the guy audition again.
Sure AM1 was only okay, and AM2 sure did stink up the joint, but there are still plenty of salvageable parts; adding the OsCorp super-soldier program to the MCU could open up not just a tonne of potential villains, but also heroes as well, which Civil War is gonna need.
Okay, maybe not need, so much as, make a lot cooler.
