Oh, but when Chris Evans and the comics themselves also say that then there's no problem?
Do you think the average fan is going to go back & look up what Chris Evans says?

Especially now that Chris is retired?

They're going to look at a quick clip of what Anthony Mackie says and take the comment at face value.

Very few are going to delve deeper.

It's unnecessary self inflicted PR damage.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the whole reason they're using CGI now is because Grammer is nearly 70 and probably doesn't want to sit in a makeup chair for the hours long process anymore

I think it was more likely just because it was a cameo. I think he would do it for a bigger part in the movie.

This isn't even a hard question to answer. Cap represents what America strives to be, even if it sometimes falls short.

To me Captain America is kind of like Worf in Star Trek. Worf was the ultimate Klingon. He loved being a Klingon. All the tradition and ritual and all that stuff about Klingon honor was something he lived up to. All despite the fact that most other Klingons you see fall very short of these ideas that are so important and valued in their Culture.

Cap is basically the ultimate American. He believes in everything America wants to stand for and he loves being a American and he has no issue with working for the government either, yet he is not a pushover. If he feels the government is not living up to the ideas of what America should be doing he won't just go with it due to blind patriotism. He will even fight against them if they doing wrong.

Also his arrival into the present day from the past also helped expand his mind on the rest of the world. He probably has a deeper respect for other cultures than he did when he was living back in the 1940's. Yet despite that he still loves being a American. It's why he keeps calling himself 'Captain America" and why he keeps wearing the most Star spandled outfit of them all. He knows and sees it important to also be a good role model to Americans, especially kids as to what a good American should try and be.

I hope this movie does well. I am concerned because I am beginning to see hate online because of what Anthony Mackie said and for everyone not to go to see movie. Hopefully it is just talk and they will still go see the movie.

Well he has two stars but also the colors and of course the big A on the forehead part of the head cowl. Also the shield look as well.

If the movie doesn't do well it won't be because of that talk. It will be because people still can't see anyone other than Chris Evans as Captain America and or they don't feel it's worth the hassle of going to a movie theater as opposed to just waiting a month and then watch it on Disney plus.
