If they did bring in Ferigno, then hopefully they're smart enough to do that too.
I think it's implicit by this point that every previous adaptation is presumed to be a "universe" in the screen multiverse. But I'm tired of that gimmick. It was cute the first couple of times, but it's worn out its welcome. Why can't we just accept that different fictional interpretations of a character are different fictional interpretations of a character? Why do they have to be "real" in each other's continuity to have value?
Because it's fun to see the different versions interact, or even to just think of them all coexisting.

It was fun the first couple of times. Now the novelty's worn off and it's just repetitive and predictable. This is the way it always goes -- one movie or show does something well, then everyone copies it, usually with inferior quality, and runs it into the ground.

I am probably the weird one in that I love some things that are repetitive. Perhaps owning to my theater and drama background, but I enjoy seeing the variety from the performances, not necessarily from the stories. So, if we revisit a familiar story, i.e. multiverse partners join forces to save the day, I'm on board. "Into the Spider-verse" was very enjoyable as a story as was "No Way Home." Both had very similar themes and beats but still highly entertaining. That's just one example.

Repetitive, predictable and run in to the ground are terms I just don't seem to line up with when it comes to art. But, admittedly, I don't watch as many movies as others so perhaps it's for the best that I don't mind predictable and repetitive ;)

I think it'd be pretty funny for Tom Cruise to play a Tony Stark variant with all of the Downey version's intensity and bravado, but none of the wisecracks, humor, or charm, and for Strange to meet him and remark "Christ, and I thought our Stark was a dick!" :p

I hope the MCU allow Tony Stark to remain dead. I've had enough of him. In fact, this decision to bring back the old Avengers team reeks of desperation to me. At this point, Feige and Disney Studios might as well let go of the MCU.

I for one would love to see the Lou Ferrigno Hulk return and show that the Bill Bixby Hulk series is its own unique universe. Bixby being dead might mean we don't get a Deepfake recreation of David Banner but, hey, you never know. Bixby's estate might well be up for letting the producers use Bill's likeness if the story calls for it.

Kenneth Johnson's The Incredible Hulk characters/universe do not need to be merged with the MCU. Its a standalone, excellent interpretation of the concept that is as incompatible with the MCU as oil and water.

A lot of things don't NEED it but I wouldn't mind seeing them. If we're going to do the multiverse shtick anyways might as well throw in something that might not fit per se but would still be a fun moment in the franchise.

For what it's worth the Kenneth Johnson Hulk is also my favorite interpretation of the character. But if everyting but the kitchen sink is going into that film then the return of Lou Ferrigno would be a pretty cool moment.

That's the advantage to establishing it as a separate universe from the MCU 616, it doesn't need to be merged or made compatible. Since it's not actually part of the MCU, it doesn't need to fit.

Agreed. The character had his arc, culminating with his selfless act. That was the period on the end of a character arc, and he was best served with said end.

Thankfully, the "RDJ is coming back" rumor (so far) is the stuff of breathless fanboys wanting that good ol' feeling again (i'm guessing some are hoping a popular character will also lift the MCU out of the rubble of recent run of underwhelming and/or bad productions).

I hope people don't just buy into rumors

Anyways Stark 616 should stay dead. A variant could show up but it's not necessary
