Focusing on weird, obscure Marvel characters (villains and heroes/allies alike) was a trademark of the John Byrne Sensational She-Hulk.
I love that they're drawing from both John Byrne and Dan Slott's runs. And now, thinking back on it, I'm pretty sure Porcupine showed up in the John Byrne run.

The Ironheart suit. Hopefully not the final version as it looks more like War Machine than anything from the comics.

I'd say it's somewhere in between Mark 1 and the Mark 2 that becomes War Machine, which makes sense since she build it herself, like Tony with the Mark 1. Besides, that comic book cover... Is that her first suit in the comic?

QUICK EDIT:
Her first suit from the comic right below. So yeah, I'm ok with it.

Good grief that's an ugly suit.

Costumes in behind-the-scenes photos usually look worse than they do onscreen, since the lighting, exposure, camera angles, etc. aren't optimized to make them look good.

Christopher beat me to it, but yeah, we get this with so many superhero movies when we get the first shot of a costume in a BTS leak. And than on screen it works.

Also, we go through this almost every time; there's almost always an evolution of a supersuit during an introduction/origin story. They typically don't achieve "final form" until the third act (because; metaphor!)
Remember how people freaked out over Carol's green Captain Marvel suit? I think there were even glimpses of Kamala's cosplay costume that had people up in arms.

So yeah, it looks clunky and that's clearly the point. It's her very own handmade Mk1, and Tony's Mk1 looked like an old cast iron boiler up and grew legs, so that tracks just fine!

I'm assuming this is the first version or early version of the suit and will be refined as the story progresses similar to IM1. It's a common trope having a suit that evolves, most recently in Ms. Marvel.

Yeah, that seems likely. Riri starts out imitating Stark tech, then comes up with something more her own. Though it would be a nice change of pace if she didn't wait until the season finale to do it.

And the villain in 'Ironheart' is... The Hood. Which seems a bit of an odd choice as he's a supernatural character, or rather a character using a supernatural object belonging to Dormammu to become a criminal.

Is it though? In the comics wasn't Iron Man's primary nemesis The Mandarin? You know, the guy with ten magical rings? This may just be an homage to that detail that never made it into the MCU version, and has now been sort of shifted across to Riri.

We'll have to see what happens, but it seems like a cool way to bring Wong into the series. Strange has already faced off against Dormammu.

Do we know that Wong is going to be in Ironheart, or are you just figuring he's bound to be because he's in everything else these days? He does seem to have become the new Nick Fury.

My immediate first thought is that they were both characters highly influenced by Brian Michael Bendis. Ironheart was created by Bendis, and while he didn't create The Hood, he certainly picked up the character and ran with him in his Avengers run and elsewhere.

Just because Wong appears in everything, and with the Hood being the villain I expect one of the sorcerers will show up.

First pics of Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk on the set of Echo (with possible spoiler).

Kingpin doesn't seem to be suffering from any injuries to his eyes or face. Could be a flashback. Could be something else entirely.

I think I read somewhere when the finale of Hawkeye came out, that the last scene with Kingpin was based on a scene from one of the comics, and in that she shot him in the face. So I'm assuming that's what they're going with here too.
I can't remember, did we ever actually see him in the white suit in Daredevil? I haven't seen it since it originally came out, so my memory of it's pretty vague.
