Both of those shows sounds interesting.

Peggy Carter is back! The What If? series will launch with "What If Peggy Carter became a super soldier?"

Damn, you got me all excited! I mean, this is better than nothing but I thought the show was coming back full stop. Can't wait to see Hayley Atwell kick more ass than usual! :D

Sorry to get your hopes up. I actually meant that post to read "Peggy Carter is back! Sort of..." I must have gotten ahead of myself.

Except What If? is going to be an animated series, and it hasn't been announced whether Atwell will be voicing Peggy.

She already did so for the Avengers Assemble cartoon, odds are she'll be back for a 1 episode thing.

That's the beauty of these types of anthology shows, they can afford to bring in name actors for parts because they're usually 1 episode things. Like Black Mirror and the 90s Outer Limits.

So I just saw in an article about the Cassian Andor series that said Disney+ will be starting on November 12. Do we know yet which, if any, of the Marvel shows will be launch series?

Magneto wasn't an X-Man but I think he was de-aged to a baby at that point so I could see why he wasn't counted. The conversation was in the context of whether the government believed mutants to be a threat.
By the way, how are you reading that, and is it in color or b&w? I'm thinking of ordering a collection, but I'm getting conflicting information about which one contains the issues in question.

Yeah, I know. It was wishful thinking, based on the knowledge that she's done plenty of voice acting. Am I not allowed to indulge a little in celebration? :p

I like the title. Pity we have to wait an extra year for that one. I'm much more interested in that one than Falcon & Winter Soldier.

"WandaVision" sounds like if she invented a new TV service.
Feige put some concept art up on the screen for WandaVision, and said something along the lines of "I'll give you another second or two to try to figure out what's going on there, but as you can see we're not afraid to experiment", and then it was gone. Sounded interesting. Has anyone seen any sort of description of exactly what he put up there. (It wasn't shown on the stream, obviously.)

The only Marvel stuff available at launch will be the nonfiction Marvel Hero Project. Well, new Marvel stuff I mean. A ton of old Marvel material will be on there at launch, highlighted by the streaming service debut of Captain Marvel. Which they mentioned numerous times today during the program. Captain Marvel will be a big selling point at the launch of Disney+.

Now, that said, I have no clue what the definitive split between year 1 and year 2 is. Is it Nov 12 2020? Or is it some other random time in 2020? Time will tell I guess.

Isn't that also a story in Exiles too?

There wasn't a story about that as a concept, but the new ongoing Exiles did encounter Captain America/Peggy Carter and her sidekick Bucky (who is also a girl) while passing through a bunch of different dimensions. In the most recent issue I read (which is probably 6 mos old or so since I read on Marvel Unlimited), they brought those characters back with the implication that they would be joining the team from here on out and included a small amount of backstory for her.

By the way, how are you reading that, and is it in color or b&w? I'm thinking of ordering a collection, but I'm getting conflicting information about which one contains the issues in question.
I'm using the Epic Collections, which is a fairly economical trade paperback of every single X-Men issue. X-Men Epic Collection: Second Genesis collects Giant-Size X-Men #1, X-Men #94-110, Iron Fist #14-15, and Marvel Team-Up #53, 69-70, and Annual #1. For $30 or so. They don't release the collections in order, though, and they're not done releasing them yet. But when they do, it'll be every X-Men issue (at least from #1 to #380) without any gaps. The biggest issue right now is the first Epic Collection is out of print, so I'm hoping they'll print a new edition that I can get for $30 rather than for $100 or so that it's now going for.

I'm also subscribed to Marvel Unlimited. For $10 a month or $70 a year, you can read tens of thousands of Marvel comics online with no additional fee. Once I get past #110, I'll start to read it that way since, as I said, the next volume of the Epic Collection hasn't been released.

BTW, to finish what I was saying earlier, the conversation about there not being known mutants was between Michael Rossi and Stephen Lang (not Bolivar Trask). It's entirely possible everyone in that conversation was being disingenuous. Rossi didn't want the Sentinel program revived, so he was probably downplaying the existence of mutants. It still backs up the idea that they were not well-known at this point, though.

Sorry about the double post.

Oh wow, that was practically the exact opposite of what I was expecting. I like to do a little (or large) read through before every show and most movies. My plan was to read a lot of classic Thor this year because I thought the Loki series was starting soon. I might have to change this around and start a Captain America read through, which will certainly be far more difficult since I'm also planning on reading Nick Fury stuff at the same time. The goal is to get through Ed Brubaker's run before the show starts (although I certainly won't be reading every Captain America story ever published).

No announcement on when they plan to release the Hawkeye show?

Yep. It's in color. In many cases, it's actually restored original coloring - typically the older the story the better chance the color has been restored.

They got Atwell back to voice Peggy in the latest Avengers cartoon, I don't doubt she'd want to come back for a more quality project like this.
