Does anyone know when Mitchell Carson's theft of the Yellow Jacket formula will have an effect in the MCU?

As for Portman. She lost interest right after the first movie and just slept walked to a paycheck.

Nothing wrong with Portman. She's just not interested anymore

She sleepwalked through "THOR: THE DARK WORLD"? It didn't seem so to me.

I'm still holding out hope that in the last 10 minutes of Infinity War 2 when Thanos is standing victorious over the combined Guardians and Avengers and anyone else that might be helping, Squirrel Girl comes out of the shadows and beats him down.

On another topic, I'm still waiting for The Leader to come back. Maybe they're holding him for after Thanos? He'd be a good "big bad" that's manipulating a lot of lower level bad guys.

Although I'd like to see that, I think the lackluster response to The Incredible Hulk damped any interest in revisiting its dangling threads. Look how long it took for Thunderbolt Ross to return, and in a role totally unconnected to the Hulk.

Recasting the role of Banner certainly made things a little awkward in bringing back the likes of Samuel Sterns, Emil Blonsky and Betty Ross.
At least with Ross Sr. his role didn't depend on his interactions with Norton's Banner. He was a mostly detached antagonist, working through proxies. Plus it helps that RDJ showed up for that stinger so we've already seen them in a room together.

Even if Liv Tyler had really good chemistry with Mark Ruffalo, it would still be weird because it's wouldn't be the same chemistry she had with Norton and just make it all the more jarring.
That's much less of a concern with Blonsky since he was more the Hulk's adversary than Banner's but Sterns was sort of a fried and is a monster Bruce helped create. Not impossible, but awkward at best.

Don't forget we got the whole Bruce/Natasha thing in the Avengers movies now, so that would probably make any return of Betsy Ross pretty awkward in universe too.
I don't know if the recasting of Banner is that much of an issue though, after all we did see them recast both Rhodes and Fandral, and they still continued on from the last movies. I know that they were just supporting rather than main characters, but it still shows that they don't have a problem ignoring the change and moving forward from where they left off.
I still hope they will eventually do something more with Sterns, that is probably one of the things I'm most interested in seeing followed up on. If we don't get him in a standalone Hulk movie, then I think he could be a pretty good villain for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The MCU Canon comic "Fury's Big Week" shows Natasha taking Stern into custody soon after his "origin event", and later, him being held at a SHIELD facility (however, what became of him after Captain America the Winter Soldier is anyone's guess). Sadly, that is likely the only resolution we're ever going to get on the Leader.

I'd argue that them only being supporting characters and not protagonists makes a huge difference. With Rhodes it helped that he had a *lot* more to do in IM2 than IM1, so you almost forget about Terrence Howard's turn in the role. It also helped that Don Cheadle is a better fit for the role IMO.

As for Fandral...I had no idea he was recast until someone pointed it out to me. Not a clue. But then he's really a glorified extra in both movies, only distinguishable in my mind and "the one that looks like a 'Princess Bride' cosplayer."

Keep in mind that (aside from being right for the role to begin with) if you recast a supporting character, you only have to make sure they have good chemistry with the star and/or the cast member they interact with the most. If you recast the main character, you either have to somehow get someone who has good chemistry with *all* of the existing main cast, recast all or most of the existing cast or just get rid of those characters altogether. In the case of Banner, they took the latter option.

Ross worked because he fit the role for CW. It made sense for him to be there and there's the added bonus of already having shared a scene with Stark, so no introductions were necessary. Clearly the events of 'Avengers' rendered his quest to capture Banner moot and if that weren't enough the line about his heat attack, triple bypass and retirement says all you need to know about why we haven't seen him in the last few years. Indeed, after Harlem it's a wonder he wasn't court martialed.

if they want to bring in Betty Ross, they should try and get Jennifer Connelly back. There's no problem with chemistry, because she had none with her Banner.

I don't have anything against Jennifer Conelly, but I think that would just be to confusing for people. A lot of people already seem to think Hulk is part of the MCU, and that would just make things worse.

So I finally watched ant man and Civil war over the last 2 nights, while I did find the films enjoyable they are not my favourite films of the MCU film universe. Because I had a little break between watching Age of Ultron and these 2 I had actually forgotten the reason as to why Captain America knew the 'big reveal' at the end of the film. I liked Black Panther and felt it was a good introduction for him without the need for a origins film himself, I must admit I found Spider man annoying overall a little too kid like and wished he stopped talking so I doubt if thats the type of character he will have that I will see his solo film.

One final thing I saw the preview for Dr Strange but I was not gripped for the film either hopefully he will only play a peripheral role in the universe so he is almost skippable or maybe future trailers will look better to me.

Cap learned that Bucky killed the parents in Winter Soldier when he found computer Zola.
Technically he only found out Hydra killed them, as he says in this movie he didn't know it was Bucky specifically (though he probably suspected as much, given the context.)

Plus the date of the info cap had coincided to the date of the mission the winter soldier was sent on.

He certainly knew when Howard was killed, but Cap wasn't aware Zemo was after the mission report for that specific date until it flashed up on screen. So technically he only "knew" Bucky killed Howard & his wife about 10 seconds before Tony did. Up until that point it would have only been a suspicion at most and one he'd probably tried to put to the back of his mind.
