I'll stop when folks admit that they don't care about actual storytelling anymore and just want empty, gutless fanservice with only old characters and no one new, ever, and that they're still ashamed of comic book stuff and need everything to be "Grounded".
"New" doesn't automatically mean "better" or even "good".
Iron Man 1, Thor, CA1, Avengers, GotG, DS1, BP1, up until CM1 were new and good/great.
The bulk of D+ shows however were either bad to miserably horrible.
Most MCU movie offerings after Endgame were worse.
You are on a Star Trek board, majority here do not want anything "grounded".
The more fantastical it is, the better the enjoyment.
Leave it to Netflix, they'd have made the Guardians of the Galaxy be a human biker gang that use their comic names as "Biker Gang Names" and have guys like Ronan be the leader of a Rival Biker Gang.
You're entering speculative territory now.
The real problem here is that the MCU simply was really bad at writing women and nonwhites until 2019 or so,
2019 was the year of their greatest hits back to back. CM1and AV4.
The three big hits after that, guess what? The leads were white - SM:NWH, DS2 and DP3.
Everything else either did poorly or crashed and burned hard.
So by your logic, when the MCU started getting better at writing women and minorities, their IPs started to fail? :ouch:

and suddenly bringing in so many women and nonwhites angered the folks who only wanted Forced White Male Leads
This argument again.
White fans wanted Blade, a proper recasting and sequel to BP and proper non-white superheroes that weren't tertiary hand-me-downs from their white, male counterparts.
Instead we got a horrible Ant-Man 3, a Black Widow movie after they killed the character off and Thor: Love and Blunder.

Better than "Outdated". Leave it to you, TNG wouldn't exist.

No, the D+ shows were better than most of Phases 1 and 2 and all the Netflix shows except some of DD.

Tell that to folks who thought the Netflix shows were any good.

Yes and you're forgetting how there were conspiracy theories about how CM1 was really a failure, same with BP1.

Uh, hardly. Shang Chi and Wakanda Forever and Guardians 3 were all great.

So by your logic, when the MCU started getting better at writing women and minorities, their IPs started to fail?

No, they just happened too late and the better storylines were wasted on the Forced White Male Leads. The stories that happened to the Guardians, should have happened to Carol. And maybe some of Iron Man's stories should've been about BP to begin with.

White fans wanted Blade, a proper recasting and sequel to BP and proper non-white superheroes that weren't tertiary hand-me-downs from their white, male counterparts.

No, they wanted Wesley Snipes and didn't really care about the Blade character. And they wanted ANYTHING but to see a woman as a powerful lead. And those white male characters should never have had those stories to begin with.

Instead we got a horrible Ant-Man 3, a Black Widow movie after they killed the character off and Thor: Love and Blunder.

Thor 4 was better than Thors 1 and 2, Ant-Man 3's problems had little to do with women, and Black Widow herself was never a well done character. Yelena outdid her right from the start.

Feige and his Marvel Studios associates know their product, and their handling of said product in relation to how the audience is in decline in recent years. Not for a moment should anyone (not meaning you) ever question the concerns of people who the heart and nerve center of this franchise, when their concerns are proven with one film after another.

Figuring out why something happens when it involves humans is pretty difficult. One of the frequent issues with polling, for example, is that people tend to make decisions for irrational reasons, and then come up with after-the-fact rationalizations for why they did so. Because of this, just asking people why they did something doesn't actually elucidate that much.

Mankind is not a rational creature; he is a rationalizing creature.

That's Empire not Entertainment Weekly. I don't think there even is an EW magazine anymore I think it's just the website now.
