Their marketing team is gonna have to pull off a miracle in the next couple years. Momentum and excitement for these films are all but dead, and there’s no sign F4:FS is going to turn that around.

I would say there is no point in doing the Avengers as big splashy movies at this point. And I've been looking forward to them. The delay is going to hurt Fantastic Four as well--I was just getting excited for the wrap up to this stage of the Marvel movies because I want to see what they do with the X-Men afterward. If it helps speed up production, I would say make Doomsday and Avengers/Fantastic Four movie and get it out sooner.

EDIT: Someone mentioned Spider-Man might still come out on time, so at least there's a summer MCU offer.

But these days most people probably only think about Alec Guinness from "Star Wars." My guess is lots of youngsters never even seen "The Bridge on the River Kwai" "Doctor Zhivago" or "Lawrence of Arabia."

That was kind of my point. Portman doesn't really seem to like the Marvel movies, except maybe the paycheck as she'd rather do something more "cinema". Luckily she's at a different stage in her career than Guinness was so she won't be remembered for being Jane Foster.

Isn't her latest project some sort of Indiana Jones style action film with John Krasinski?

I hope that's sarcasm. He basically saved the last season of "Picard"
:guffaw:
He played the greatest hits and hoped we wouldn't notice. It started out good and then used an asshole character to substitute humor, and a mystery box that would make Abrams blush.

I think @Jayson1 was clearly joking with that post.
But then Trekkers find humor a difficult concept.
Comes from not having a sense of humor.

I'm fine with the delay. Sure, I want to see these movies, but I'd rather have them take time and deliver a proper product instead of rushing it. If that means delaying Spiderman as well, also a 'it is what it is' situation.
Besides, a small break might be good for the MCU.

No, after Thunderbolts they "got it back". Especially considering how fickle the "fans" are and how easily they're "It's Dead! No, it's alive!" nowadays.

Hardly. It's only a handful fans who keep saying it's dead while many others are still either enjoying or loving most of the films.

While I recognize I'm in the minority, I think the Multiverse Saga has produced some of the MCU's best films, including No Way Home, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, Wakanda Forever, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Thunderbolts*. That said, I'm willing to acknowledge that there have been some lackluster films including Eternals, Quantumania, Love and Thunder, and Brave New World, although I want to rewatch Eternals because I think it deserves another fair shake. Of all of the movies from this Saga, the only ones I've found outright disappointing have been Quantumania and Brave New World (the former of which still has some great moments at least).

Again, I know everyone's mileage varies but I still believe fans' reactions to this Saga haven't been quite as fickle as you think, but rather a case of a vocal minority who revels in any blemish in the MCU.
