Yeah, "corporate intrigue" is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the Iron Fist character or comics. Sure, he was a wealthy trust fund baby who got called out on his privilege on the regular by Luke Cage, but the inner workings of Rand Corporation were never the focus of his story. In the comics, the Meacham family were minor supporting characters at best.

Granted, though, that may not have been Buck's idea alone. The other Netflix series were pretty street-level and grounded, so Netflix and Marvel Television may have been leery about delving too much into the mystical side of Iron Fist, and thus may have chosen to emphasize the Meachams so they could do a more grounded story. It wouldn't be the first time a superhero TV series tried to tone down its fanciful elements into something that fit conventional TV formulas, e.g. turning Lucifer into a police procedural.

I guess since this is the start of a new story arc they're stopping the "Home" titles. And it fits the original use of that title in the comics since this comes after a big change was made to Spider-Man's reality.

So the next MCU Spidey film is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to Sony's Facebook posting. July 31, 2026.

Uggghhh...I really, really hope they don't use anything from that particular story.

From what I understand Daredevil isn't doing so good in the ratings so I have a feeling this hope of seeing the other Netflix characters again might be dashed because of that.

That is old fashioned thinking. Many people haven't started the show yet. I haven't had time so far, and I am waiting for all the episodes to be there, so I can watch it one episode a day in a row.
There are more people like that.

It's a new world.

He didn't have a chance because Scott Buck was the showrunner and the writing was abominable in the first season as a result. The second season was vast improvement thanks to a new showrunner, but it was still the weakest season of all of the Netflix shows.* Danny Rand was at his best in The Defenders where the writing was the strongest**...and was more naturally paired with Luke Cage.

*I'm not counting Punisher since I have my own issues with the show and I'm willing to concede it was good on its own merits...and I never bothered with the second season.

**I will...erm, defend...that miniseries to my dying day. I loved almost everything about it.

Punisher had a strong first season, then Frank should have moved on to a new story with a new supporting cast. That's the format where the character shines.
I agree that Finn Jones was not what was wrong with Iron Fist. That said, if he wants back in the role he better have been studying martial arts for the past seven years. I liked him best in the Defenders too, but it was so obvious when they were using a stunt double.

Finn Jones passed his power to the Colleen. But still had some power so maybe they will do stuff like what they did with that magic gun or whatever it is called in the final scene. should they use him. Speaking of which they should bring her back as well. In fact I I am more interested in seeing her again than I am in seeing Danny Rand.

It's the obvious title to go with, given the end of NWH but since it wasn't the title of a specific story it still tells us nothing really.

But if they are using that era as the template then Sadie Sink is probably playing Carlie Cooper.

That said, if he wants back in the role he better have been studying martial arts for the past seven years.

Or he just needs an intensive training course for a few months before/during production, like he should've gotten the first time. That sort of thing is not the actor's responsibility to arrange, but the production's. After all, he and his trainers would need to know what specific things he'd need to learn. There are many different kinds of martial arts, after all, so just "studying martial arts" in general wouldn't necessarily prepare you for a specific role. For instance, Keanu Reeves had studied karate since the 1980s, but he needed to study kung fu from scratch for The Matrix, and he only learned enough to do movie stunts convincingly, which is superficial training compared to the real discipline. Which is exactly why you don't need to train for years to create the illusion of mastery in a movie. You just need to train enough to perform certain specific moves convincingly on camera.

There was a short about Thunderbolts released a few days ago, it had Sentry (or Void?) saying that if he's a God then he shouldn't be taking orders and Valentina at a Press Conference saying that since there are no new Avengers than she has a 1 Man Avenger team ready.

HOW Sentry got his powers here, not yet explained. They better not use his ridiculous comic origin...

A production listing for Spider-Man Brand New Day, actually came out back in October with the movie's name on it

Spoiler tagged because of the synopsis
