Do you mean One Day More or Brand New Day? Brand New Day was where I jumped into regularly reading the comics, and I thought it was good, and I could see them borrowing a few things from it given the similarities between what happened in No Way Home and One Day more. Now if you're talkng about One Day More, I get it since I have never heard a single good thing about that storyline.
I could see Sadie Sink as Carli Cooper, and it would make sense for her to pop up now.

Brand New Day was basically the soft reboot of the character after Mephisto created a world in which he and Mary Jane had never been a couple. That's where Peter is at in his life right now, so it makes sense to use that title for the movie. I don't think we'll see anything similar to the actual comics other than the set up. (But I didn't read that spoiler up thread.)
What was notable about BND was that it was basically a clean break from the previous storylines and all their baggage, so that it could make a fresh start and tell its own stories unburdened by the mess of One More Day and the Mephisto business. (I hated OMD, but enjoyed BND because it was a separate thing.) I don't think the movie could do it quite the same way, since MCU Peter (IIRC) still remembers what came before even if nobody else does, so he'd be more affected by previous continuity than the comics' Peter was initially.

To bad they spoiled it when they lets us know everyone from the movie would be returning in Doomsday except Taskmaster.
They didn't show us all the names of everyone returning though. Hehehe
I would applaud them if they were clever enough play on what most people predict and that is the character dying and surprise us by having her survive.
Apparently there's going to be a Marvel panel at CinemaCon starting soon. I'm not going to watch the New Rockstars live stream reaction, but I am sure that if anything is worth mentioning it will be all over the internet within moments.
