She was in his early adventures, back when he wore the green and white uniform. IIRC, she vanished from the strip around the time he got his new costume.

For some of it, yeah. She wasn't in every issue and she vanished soon after the new costume (her retconned superhero origin is post-costume change, but just barely). After that she goes away as Rick Jones becomes more important.

I strongly suspect the reason he's there is because the other Captain Marvel volumes (i.e., the ones featuring Carol) are there.

That sale made me seriously consider getting a few things (I have several free comics on an account there, and the site works well). But, any site that doesn't allow you to just pay for things, in this case demanding a amazon pay account to give them money, isn't getting my business. Why can't I just put a card in and pay for something, like I can on Amazon, which owns comixology? Anyway, the sale is cool. I just wish it was on a consumer friendly site.

I've never had to do anything more than put in my debit card when I've gotten stuff from them. Did you check to make sure they didn't have multiple options?
I set up my account at least 6 years ago according to the dates of some of my oldest comics, so guess there may have been changes made that don't affect me.
I just checked and the sale prices are also on Amazon, Google Play and since they're there I'm assuming they probably are on ITunes also. I think these sales are usually done by the publisher, so most of the time they are on all of the services that sell digital comics. Comixology is just where I usually get my comics, so it was the only place I looked originally.

Reading up on it, apparently if you signed up through Amazon (like i did) or at one point linked your amazon account to Comixology, you lose your ability to pay with anything but through amazon payment (Amazon trying to compete with paypal, basically). Its been complained about a lot, but Amazon owns Comixology and they are a super petty company (like how they removed twitch support from Roku justg to make people want to buy an Amazon TV stick product).

So, instead of Comixology/Amazon getting my money, I decided to try out a month of marvel unlimited. I can read as much as I want, and a simple debit card is enough to pay for the subscription. I wanted to try comixology since I have gotten free comics on it and tried it out enough to know it works, and it seemed convenient. But since its a pain in the ass because of how my account was set up, I'm just going with the "Netflix" of Marvel comic reading.

I'm starting with Marvel Holiday Special 2005 then going from there. I've been wanting to read Infinity Gauntlet before the next Avengers movie, and it seems to be available on the surface. Not to mention other stuff I've always wanted to read.

My older account must have protected me from that then. Now that we got talking about this, I do remember it asking me if I wanted to connect it to my Amazon account and telling it no.

Yeah, from what I've read you'd definitely want to avoid that.

As for me, Marvel unlimited is working fairly well. Just finished the 2005 Marvel Holiday Special (containing two entertaining stories and one kind of mediocre one), and now I'm on to The Punisher: Silent Night one shot.

I'm way behind on this thread (as I am in my Marvel reading) so please forgive me if this has already been discussed, but I just learned that the Avengers is going to be moving to a weekly schedule soon. I think I will be dropping it. I have a hard enough time swallowing the fact that DC is publishing all their main books twice monthly, but at least they're relatively cheap at $2.99 each. I don't think I really want to encourage Marvel by buying The Avengers 4 or 5 time a month at $3.99 a pop.

They're doing what they did with Spider-Man post Brand New Day and converting all the books into one. So, if you were buying Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, and U.S.Avengers, this should only minimally impact you. But, if you were buying only one or, in my case, none, this is too much of an additional burden. My plan is to wait for the trade, which I'm hoping will be all 12 issues printed some time in April or May. Otherwise, I'll wait for Marvel Unlimited.

Interesting. I used to love the old Conan the Barbarian and Conan the King. I especially love John Buscema's stuff.

I wonder if they're going to start fresh, or if this is going to continue on from the old Conan stories that were (and are again?) actually canon in the Marvel Universe.

I don't want a full reboot, but a retelling of some of the old stories with new additions wouldn't hurt. Basically, assume the audience has never read it, but don't disregard past canon.

BTW, should we have a different thread title since we're firmly into Legacy now?

Does this mean that Marvel can reprint those old What If issues with Conan in them?

Sounds cool. I'm not convinced I want to pay for Stitcher Premium, but this is still neat.

The article doesn't say, it just has a couple quotes from Hickman and Weaver about how excited they are they're finally going to be released.

There's some ambiguity, with reports of art being done and art not being done, so who knows? My suspicion is it didn't sell, which was a big part of it, but it ultimately became a cult hit. I wonder if they have long-term plans with Hickman, which motivated a release (since it's obviously not going to be a hit now, although I'll probably buy them once I remember what the hell happened building up to it).
