Marvel All New, All Different - Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I like the Ultimates book, and not just for that gorgeous Kenneth Rochafort art.

Captain America #7...
Non-shocker! Steve Rogers is restored to his youth just in time for his new movie to come out!
I thought it was going to happen in the final Standoff issue, though, so I was surprised when it happened.

It's just like clockwork in the past few years. Kill/depower a famous hero precisely two years before his movie comes out. Introduce replacement hero. Bring back original character in status quo just before the movie comes out. Human Torch. Superior Spider-Man. Captain America. Thor (wait for it). Am I missing any others?

Black Panther is coming back as king of Wakanda.

On the other hand, I don't get the impression Carol Danvers is going back to Ms. Marvel and I don't think Mar-Vell is coming back.

I believe Carol Danvers is going to be Capt. Marvel in the movie, so that is a little bit different than Steve Rogers not being Capt. America when Civil War is released.

Are we sure about that? I thought it was a mystery where Banner/hulk was at the moment during the Awesome Hulk run. Or you probably mean that Amadeus is headlining?

Old Man Logan is about a kill list Logan has to cycle through to make the future a brighter place.

He's already tried to kill Amadeus because he looks a little like Bruce. :)

well, we don't know where Bruce is...but his power was absorbed by Amadeus. right now She Hulk and Amadeus are the only Hulks.

No?

There was a massive gamma event, that was going to kill millions.

Amadeus took on the over flow that Bruce couldn't handle sucking up.

The story isn't complete.

It is possible that Amadeus drained Bruce, and he's totally Human now.

It's also possible that they're both Hulks.

Or that Bruce is some kind of mutated super hulk.

Or that Bruce was fired into space again.

Well, based on the latest issue of Totally Awesome Hulk

The last issue (#4) made it about as clear as possible that he drained Banner. It showed Cho absorb the power directly from him, Hulk became Banner, and they had a dialog exchange as Bruce cries

Banner: What have you done?

Cho: Dude. It's all good. You Don't have to worry any longer. You're free. So, Don't cry.

Banner: Ah, kid...I'm not crying for me.

Between that and Amadeus still mentally fighting the savage Hulk instincts at times, it seems pretty clear that Bruce is powerless, and Amadeus took the power himself.

Oh, balls!

Foiled again.

Everyone is always right, except me, but here's the problem with your assessment.

After Amadeus took in all of Bruce's "power" he exploded.

Like a Gamma Bomb.

Which ironically, should have reinfected Bruce moments after he was maybe but almost certainly not cured.

Well, I'm sure Bruce is cured for now. He'll probably be Hulk again by the time a movie the character appears in comes out, at least.

Carol Danvers and Jim Rhodes are hooking up as well.

Eros got a new bow for Christmas?

At first I thought "What does Starfox have to do with Carol and Jim hooking up?", then I realized you meant the actual Eros, or Cupid, from mythology. :guffaw:

Speaking of Eros/Starfox, I hope he comes back. I enjoyed his part in Rage of Ultron.

Does anyone know if the issue of Marvel team up with Spider-Man and Red Sonja has ever been reprinted? I recently bought a collection of Marvel team-up stories from the Claremont and Byrne era, but that story wasn't included, I'm guessing because Marvel no longer has the rights to Red Sonja.

I enjoyed Black Panther #1 felt it was a good debut issue.
I've not really read solo BP since a few arcs of the Priest run so I'm looking forward to at least this first arc and probably the second. The turmoil in the kingdom and strife seems to be an undercurrent they will address as will T'Challa's sister. I won't mention it here, seems spoilery.

Yeah, I really liked the issue. To me, it's the closest successor we've had to Panther's Rage ever. That being said, it's one issue, so I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Panther didn't grab me.

Elsewhere T'Challa had some really out of character lines in the Civil War II lead in.

By the way, how is Standoff an "Event"?
