Manu Intiraymi as "Icheb"

Did they give a year for the flashback? If not it could have happened any time between Icheb reaching the rank he's shown having (Lt?) and 2399 (21 ).

It said 13 Years Ago, so c. 2386. If Icheb was, the equivalent of say, 17, in his first appearance in Season 6 (2376) of VGR, then he'd have been around 27 in the flashback. So mid-20s rather than early.

Well if anyone really wants more Manu and Icheb, there's always Renegades! Taking place in it's own universe (literally, following the Axanar drama, it had all direct Trek references scrubbed and names changed), Itchy/Chafee lives on and joins some space rogues after Section 31/Sector 6 turn him into a walking weapon.

In theory yes, in practice if they kill her they need to kill her well. Nobody wants another Kirk under the bridge.

There was an episode of The Next Generation where a previous guest star (from three seasons back) returned for less than a minute and in a non-speaking capacity. Brophy's Bruce Maddox arguably had a larger impact on Star Trek as a whole and he appeared for an entire episode...being VERY vocal the entire time. They should have brought back Brian Brophy.

As far as Brophy goes, it has been thirty years, who cares? Intiraymi? He made his bed, making himself a questionable hire for anything going forward.

Cycle of abuse.

When Manu was 14, he might have had a 26 year old boyfriend.

Clearly something to worry about, the cycle of abuse, Manu may right now have a 14 year old boyfriend. Although he's considerably older than 26, he'd probably be able to scatch his youngling itch with a 23 year old.

But they did not. There was no requirement to do so, as the role of Maddox was not regarded as important until the moment he was recast.
