There was an episode of The Next Generation where a previous guest star (from three seasons back) returned for less than a minute and in a non-speaking capacity. Brophy's Bruce Maddox arguably had a larger impact on Star Trek as a whole and he appeared for an entire episode...being VERY vocal the entire time. They should have brought back Brian Brophy.
