Make up a fake bit of Trek trivia!

Phasers, and other weapons, were only added to Star Trek at the last minute at the insistence of Desilu owner Lucille Ball who was a founding member of the NRA.

Several men auditioned for the part of Janeway, in dresses.
Nobody had the courage to tell Worf his sash wasn't regulation.
The name Janeway was derived from the words James Kirk's way.

Originally Gene wanted to use ring shaped portals to travel between worlds on TOS, but Matt Jefferies convinced him that fan boys would spend endless hours fighting about the details of starships instead, keeping the franchise alive long after any possible cancellation. Especially with some carefully placed inconsistencies.

FACT: there is an asteroid hurtling toward the Earth right now. Best estimates give us 174 years. Oh what will Trek's part in our culture mean for us? Will we get off this ball inspired by Trek, or sit on it too distracted by its glitz and glamor? When the end comes, will we rise to the occasion and end well, will we sell out whomever we can for a seat on a dark ship?

Oh and it's being piloted by Marina Sirtis. Weyland-Yutani has subcontracted through the EU for a Brittish-Greek company to prep the E.U.S. Ark Royal. Sirtis is the celebrity pilot chosen. Getting her was a triumph over a Scottish firm pushing for one Launchpad MacQuak.

As proven by the fact that Owen Paris kept a picture of Nick Locarno in his office.

FACT:Christopher Judge was originally cast to play Quark
Indeed!

Picard was originally supposed to be Pike's illegitimate son. (Picard=Pike's bastard).

To underscore this, Captain Picard's scenes in "Encounter at farpoint" were all initially shot with Stewart in a wheelchair. After that concept was dropped, all of his scenes were re-shot. Bryan Singer saw some of the original footage; he decided to cast Stewart as Prof. X based on those scenes.

She has kind of slipped thru the public consciousness, I guess. I thought she was just gorgeous when she was young, around her St. Elsewhere period.
Indeed, her younger days she looked like Leelee Sobinski with a smaller chest.

The first draft of "timeless" had the voyager crew crash land, and being forced to eat the dead crew while , Kim and Chakotay went to get help.

FACT: Diana Muldaur was pregnant during TNG's second season.

FACT: TNG's The Child was supposed to have Beverly get pregnant and have a baby that looks just like Wesley. But then Gates left the show...

FACT: There is a blooper tape with William Shatner yelling "Ricardooooooo" during the filming of TWOK.

FACT: William Macy was originally slated to play Captain Jellico. However, the producers were concerned that Macy would cower in Frakes's presence.

FACT: They originally had Bebe said "oh, Fraiser" and explain it to Riker that it is an old Malcorian expression for a passionate sex.

FACT: Gene Roddenberry often claimed, at conventions during the 1970's, that he had been abducted by aliens in 1964, and that they told him to make a space TV show including the various "races" working together in peaceful exploration.

FACT: Captain Picard's original drink of choice was meant to be gin and tonic.

FACT: Yeoman Colt and Number 1 were meant to be the only women aboard the Enterprise in "The Cage", making Spock's empassioned outburst more "logical"

FACT: William Shatner is a big fan of Tom Hanks' work, he particulary enjoys movies like "Saving Private Jo Jo" and "I Am Forrest Gump"
