MAJOR star wars TCW spoiler!!!!

That's pretty shocking. I thought Neeson despised his green-screen time on TPM and refused to come back as a Force Ghost for AOTC and ROTS.

Where did you hear that? If he truly refused to come back, why did they bring him back for new, minor voice-overs in both episodes 2 and 3?

New? I was sure his "Anakin!" v/o from Ep II was a reuse from Ep I where Darth Maul is about to run him over on his speeder.

And I dont recall him having anything to do with Ep III aside from the namedrop at the end.

As for his appearance in TCW, the show is better than the prequels so I can understand why he'd appear in this instead of the movies :P

I was always disappointed that he didn't return in ghostly form for either AOTC or ROTS, the way Obi-Wan did in ESB and ROTJ. I always thought that he must have been sort of washing his hands of the role. In particular, the scene at the end of ROTS where Yoda revealed to Obi-Wan that he'd been in touch with Qui-Gon always seemed to have be a bit hastily inserted, as if to make up for an actual cameo from Neeson. His absence meant that the line didn't really work, IMHO.

But given that Yoda told Obi-Wan about this at the end of Sith and given Obi-Wan's apparent surprise, doesn't it contradict the cameo in TCW? Okay, admittedly, for all we know, Obi-Wan went on to tell Yoda 'Hey, I had a vision with him too' but in ROTS, you did get the impression that this came as something of a surprise to Obi-Wan. Surely if he'd already heard from Qui-Gon, he'd have been a bit more blase about Yoda's announcement?

^ IIRC, Neeson was theoretically willing to do a cameo, but the schedules didn't line up for whatever reason.

And yeah, that scene does seem to be just a tad at odds with the end of ROTS.

In ROTS Qui-Gon and Yoda have a scene together when Yoda is in meditation at the medical facility about how he will now be teaching Yoda about being a Force ghost. It is in the ROTS script. I don't think it was ever filmed though. This is exciting news indeed, at least for me. I always liked Qui-Gon. In fact you can kind of tell that Yoda was in a conversation with someone because he sighs and opens his eyes as the camera pans around as he turns his neck to face the others.

Wow. Talk about someone I never thought would voice on the show. Quite a boon for The Clone Wars. I always liked the Qui-Gon character so it's great to see him finally return.

^ And they squander such a potentially promising cameo on a non-pre-TPM-flashback ep. :p

Has Qui-Gon really not appeared on Clone Wars before? I don't follow the show that closely, but after all these years, and with all the great voice mimics they have on there, I figured he would have.

Believe it or not, I agree.

I want to see flashback eps. I want to see Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan kick ass together before the whole Trade Federation negotiations thing...

Damn it, I also want to see pre-mullet Obi-Wan teaching young Annie the basics and stuff...

Dave? Katie? Are you reading this? :alienblush:
