Mad About You revival?

Frasier FTW!

I liked Seinfeld. Friends was too trendy for me.

Mad About You had a handful of funny episodes, like the cruise ship where Jamie told everyone that Paul is crazy, the one where Jamie and Lisa swap purses and personalities, and the one where Paul forgot to submit Jamie' college registration.

Finished Season-B this morning. Still pretty good with a bit of misdirection to it heading to the "future" seen in the original series' ending. The ending here was an odd spot for a series, supposedly, no intended to go to a S2.

I finally got around to watching these new episodes...and I absolutely loved it. The whole thing felt like a return to form without missing a beat. Abby Quinn, albeit a newcomer, felt like she was always there portraying Mabel in such a way that seems inevitable for a child of the Buchmans.

I was also greatly relieved that the new season upended and rewrote what the previous series finale did to the Buchmans. Despite my love for Janeane Garofalo, I always hated the finale and how it had Paul and Jamie drift apart over the years, undoing what was such a beautiful and strong relationship that always endured the ups and downs of marriage. Briefly, during the second half of this new season, I was worried the storyline was going in that direction but thankfully it erased all doubt after a couple of episodes.

Even if this turns out to be the only new episodes for now (regardless of COVID-19), this was a lovely revisit and a better conclusion than the previous series finale.

It's just too bad we didn't get to see Fran (I know Leila Kenzle retired, so unavoidable), Debbie, or Ursula (and/or Phoebe). I suppose they narrowed the supporting cast to give more focus to Lisa and Ira (and to a lesser degree, Mark), who were always the best parts of that supporting cast. But at least we got Carol Burnett! :D

What the hell? Why did nobody tell me they made some new episodes of one of my favorite 90s sitcoms?

I never got into Seinfeld, maybe because i really don't like Jerry Seinfeld himself that much (comes off really obnoxious and entitled, especially after the Seinfeld success) but Mad About You was awesome from start to finish.

Now i really have to track down these episodes to see them!

And I'm sure it was in the canceled / renewed topic and the pointless reboot one. ;)
Nope, actually, it was a separate thread from that one (which originated as a Murphy Brown thread)! That's how much I love Mad About You! :p

I know, but it was probably also in one of those too. So it's had two separate threads just for it, and was talked about in 2-3 other TV threads.

This is like the guy whose house is flooding, a row boat comes and the guy goes 'God will save me', a motorboat comes and the guy goes 'God will save me', a helicopter comes and the guy goes 'God will save me'.

Guy drowns. Goes up to heaven and asks God why did he not save him. God replies, I sent you a row boat, a motor boat and a helicopter, what more did you need?

I don't know how any of these people in Friends can afford those huge apartments.

Monica's grandma died and she took over the rent controlled lease under the table, IIRC. Chandler, according to fan researchers, was calculated to be making millions of dollars at his unnamed job based on purchases and comments he made (and nobody realized it because his job was so boring).

I'm in the MAY fan category, mainly because I half fell in love with Jamie.
