Spoilers MacGYVER reboot review thread

My only nitpick was that he should have been able to make another cutting torch. If the problem was no more flairs to light it with, they should have mentioned it.

I'm out after the latest episode I think for a while. Surgery inside a car, and let's see using a wheel jack as a rib spreader. Oh boy.

I really enjoyed the episode last night. It seemed like an homage to the classic ep "Countdown" where Mac teams up with a bomb disposal friend to disarm a clever bomb on a cruise ship. I really liked the sentimental, philosophical monologues from Mac. They add a lot to the episode. Plus, we got some nice background on this rebooted MacGyver.

Agreed, the last two episodes really worked for me, am I getting into it? Not sure yet but I'll definitely give it a few more chances.

I'm almost tempted to try watching again, based on these. Except... Is MacGyver's annoying roommate still present?

Yes, the super annoying roommate is still present. He continues to be completely pointless. But the rest of the ep is good IMO.

Yeah I gave in and watched it again....... We had the episode with an old Russian bomb and Mac having to defuse said bomb with the help of one of its creators. It was a good episode.

Tonight a runaway train. I like watching Riley, I mean MacGyver.. I mean reasons.

Has the show got season 2 yet?

Of course Murdoc was bound to show up eventually. How many Sherlock Holmes remakes have not included Moriarty? How many Batman adaptations have left out the Joker?

Same reason as the Joker, Blofeld, the Master, etc.

Yeah I know it was a piss poor question. Hangs head in shame.

A lot of undercover-in-prison cliches but overall quite entertaining. Liked the bit with Riley and that she isn't completely over her prison experince just like that.

Wait, I just thought of something. I'd have to watch the episode again to make sure, but I don't think anyone died.
