Well, Star Trek's still got to be Star Trek.If anything, it's not very diverse at all. Looks mostly like a bunch of Humans, a furry (hopefully voiced by Danny John-Jules) and an Orion woman.
We're thinking very small if our idea of diversity in Trek is "differently-coloured Humans". Especially since it's probably "differently-coloured Americans".
I'll just watch the show.
Anyone remember when we watched and enjoyed things?

CG is animation and the live-action shows can show anything they can imagine at this point. Animation does allow for weirder stuff though.I'm still unironically looking forward to this.
Animation is still a way to show things that the TV can't readily. We learned that with TOS and now it may still hold true with LS.
great! We will see an Andorian officer in the late 24th century!
xindi?? link pleaseShaxs is Bajoran. And that EW cast photo features what might be a Trill operations ensign ("Ensign Barnes" - a guest character, or minor character not yet alluded to).
Right now, we know of:
- Humans (Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford [cyborg], Freeman, Ransom)
- Trill? (Barnes - voiced by comedian Jessica McKenna per Trekcore)
- Bajoran (Shaxs)
- Caitian (T'Ana - voiced by Gillian Vigman!)
- Orion (Tendi)
- An Andorian officer (referenced to by McMahan)
- A Xindi-Reptilian officer (artwork)
It was fan art not official.xindi?? link please

I doubt we can really say anything for certain at this point, though hopefully we learn something a bit more concrete about both this and the third season of Disco at Virtual Comic Con next month. Granted, everyone is saying "late 2020" for Lower Decks at the moment, but I wouldn't read too deeply into that. This time last year everyone was saying "later this year" in regards to Picard, and that ended up premiering January 2020.This is starting to make me think Lower Decks will be the next Trek show on the slate. There’s been a lot of news lately. Lots of first-look images and lots of interviews. It’s probably not as far off as we think.
Or I could just be talking out of my ass. Who knows?
I've been catching up on my original recipe Hawaii 5-O, so I'm good.I hope it comes out soon - I've kept my CBSAA account active for it and this gap has gone on a little too long now. Not really interested in binge-watching Big Bang Theory reruns at this point.![]()
