"Lost" Episode?

Inspired by YYZ's thread over at the TNG forum, I asked myself: What are your missing or lost episodes? So this question is mainly for people who have seen all episodes of a series, but didn't come around to see a certain episode for a long period of time. Or is there still an episode you haven't seen?

For me it was TOS' "For The World Is Hollow And I Have Touched The Sky". When I finally saw it it almost felt like a gift. Somehow this episode now holds a special place in my heart. Another one was TNG's "The Vengeance Factor" which was just a great disappointment.

To be honest, there are still two or three episodes of Voyager I missed. I'm looking forward to watch them, finally.

My lost episode for two syndicated runs of TNG was Sarek.

I still haven't seen most of ENT and about 5 Voyager episodes. I don't remember which ones though.

All of Enterprise is my lost episode. I saw half of one episode. There was a vulcan woman who was disappointed that she couldn't have a child with a human man because their species were incompatible. So how did Spock exist? It didn't seem like Trek to me, so I didn't bother with it, and later read not many consider it cannon.

^ I think that might have been "Terra Prime", the second last episode. Many think of it as one of the best episodes of Enterprise (and the true finale ;)). I'm one of them. But I can see that it won't have an impact on you if you haven't seen the whole series (or the fourth season at least.)

But apart from that, who cares about canon? I hope you don't let the canon status of an episode determine whether you like an episode or not.

Gene Roddenberry himself interviews Sarek (played by Mark Lenard) on a sound recording called "Inside Star Trek", taped in the 70s, where it is explained that Spock was not conceived naturally but in a test tube, and then implanted into Amanda's womb for most of the pregnancy.

You certainly didn't give Enterprise much of a chance.

i only saw 'Bar Association' this year and it reminded me i miss new episodes of Trek being on.

still haven't seen the one where Kira and Dukat rescue Ziyal, missed it again!

also missed 'Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy' on BBC and not seen it yet...

I'm sure there are some Voyager episodes I missed, but I really couldn't care less. :D
Any time the TVGuide blurb had the words "Doctor" or "Holodeck" in it, I didn't bother watching it.

That's a shame. There's a great episode where the Doctor is put on trial for Voyager's alleged genocide 700 years before. It seems a back-up module of the Doctor is found and activated on a Holodeck where this researcher has re-created "what happened 700 years ago". The Doctor uses the Holodeck to try to set the story straight. Its called Living Witness - one of my favorite VOY stories.

As a college student without a VCR, I watched TNG as it aired each week. The one episode I missed was "The Child." It took me almost 10 years to actually catch it in reruns. That having been said, it is certainly not one of TNG's best, but seeing it finally let me have a sense of completeness about the show.

I've seen them all but the closest one would have been "The Cage" when it finally came out in the 80s.

Pretty much sums it up for me..

Seeing the Cage in the 80s was an event at our apartment!!

In the mid-'90s I remember the local station airing a chopped up version of it jammed in to a 60 minute block. Was that the same copy they showed initially, or did it get an expanded 90-minute block?

Due to a malfunctioning VCR I failed to tape a number of DS9 episodes when originally aired. I've since gotten caught up over the years except-last Wed I turned on my DVR'd episode from Spike and FINALLY saw the death of Jadzia. You know-I'd seen the ones around it and knew she died in the Temple-but I never caught on that Dukat killed her. Mind-blower.

It was a two hour special and a tie in to TNG, with interviews with GR and the cast of TNG entering the second season!!

Ah, that's good. The one hour version that my local affiliate showed in the '90s was incredibly lame. This two hour thing was basically a result of the writer's strike, right? Didn't they air The Cage as a way to get more Trek on the air during the strike shortened season?

Something like that.. It was a cool special and they aired the Cage in its entirety, and completely in colour. I was in hog heaven.. In the nineties it was included in the TOS syndication package and edited down to 41 minutes or something like that..

It would be great if they dug up and restored the Smithsonian version of WNMHGB. I'd love to see that all cleaned up instead of my crappy 200th generation VHS copy.
