Did you watch/'acknowledge' the TOS Movies? Most of the original crew, especially Kirk and Spock, are quite different from the TV portrayal of them. They are at least as different as the JJ characters. So is the ship, for that matter. They contain plot devices to explain these, but so does ST09.That may be so. But I'm not interested in watching an "alternative" version of Kirk and crew. I
I'm not saying you have to like the JJ movies. There are certainly aspects I don't like. But they're definitely worth it as an interpretation of the TOS era, and probably the closest to the original interpretation we've seen since the 60s. It's no skin off my nose, of course. You are missing out, is all.
I'm going to take a wild guess based on your username and assume that you are familiar with the changing female vocalists of a particular metal band. Were you a hardcore Tarja fan, accept no substitutes, or have you adapted to the changes as time's gone on?I don't understand what the problem is here. Some people welcome the change of style, some people don't. And here some people say that we should all like new style. Why? What if somebody said to you, "hey, I see that you like blondes. You are wrong. You should like redheads".
This whole discussion is pointless. Lorca said what he said, which in my opinion is arrogant. "Adapt or go away" was basically what he said. I have a problem with that kind of communication.
