Long delayed Red Sonja movie being released in August.

Bottom line, I just don't see the point of doing a humorless and drab swords-and-sorcery flick - and, despite a CG beastie here or there, this preview sure looks like that.
It looked pretty standard fantasy fare to me. Trailers are not something I put much stock in terms of tone. So, if it's "drab" in a trailer I don't think that's reflective of the actual film.

But, I'll also be reserving judgement until I see the actual film.

Hey, I've got nothing against padded costumes, or even fake muscle prosthetics. If I had to choose between an actor of average build but with a demigod's charisma, who had to wear artificial muscles to appear buff, and a professional bodybuilder with enormous (possibly steroid-enhanced) muscles but no screen presence, I'll take the former any day. Not everyone can be a Chris Hemsworth in Thor or a Dolph Lundgren in Masters of the Universe. (Though when there are such actors, by all means use them, surely.)
I don't even see where fake muscles are necessary, as long as it looks believable that they could swing a sword in a fantasy or historical movie, and handle themselves in a fight that all I need.
