Little moments in movies you love.

In Airplane!, the fact that every time the audience is shown an outside shot of the jet airplane...the sound of propellers is heard. :techman:

When the cop that Blade smacked around arrives at Deacon Frost's appartment to tell him of his encounter with the Daywalker, several people are watching the movie of Mortal Kombat (widescreen versions show it better than pan-and-scan, but Reptile's hissing can be heard), which was also made by New Line...

I love all the little moments in Casablanca with Captain Renault. Especially when Strasser orders him to close Rick's, and Rick asks him what his grounds are.

Renault: "I am shocked, shocked to discover that there is gambling going on here!"

Croupier: "Your winnings, m'sieu."

Renault: "Oh, thank you." (stuffs winnings in pocket)

Don't forget Rick in the background glaring/gesturing at the croupier for doing that immediately afterwards.

So many fine moments in that film--Sascha the bartender always has a quip that perfect, as does "Bubbles" the maitre d' (or at least that's what I was told he was commonly called).

I like that too. Done because the creators originaly wanted it to be a prop-plane but jets were more modern and fit with the times more. Nevertheless, they put the prop sound in there.

"Falling Down"

The importance of these two lines of dialogue exchange between the cops and his mother:

Cop: "He was fired over a month ago."

Mother: "What? Where has he been going every day? Where has he been eating his lunch?"

That movie is full of stuff I love. One of my favorites:

"We have clearance, Clarence."

"Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?"

"Radio clearance, over."

"That's Clarence Oveur."

"Over. Roger."

"Huh?"

"Roger, over."

"What? What? Who?!"

In LA STORY, when Patrick Stewart is mean to Steve Martin.

"Is this part of the new cruelty?"

"But of course."

My favorite is and in a cheesy french accent, which is funny when you think he played a french man on ST:TNG.

"You think with a financial statement like this, you can have the duck."

I like a moment in The Lost World: Jurassic Park when Ian Malcolm (lightish comlpexion) and his daughter (very dark complexion), Kelly, are arguing outside, and Nick goes to Eddie:

'You seeing any family resemblance here, at all?'

And Eddie just shakes his head.

Gotta love the explicit lampshade hanging/breaking the 4th wall :rommie:

I love the scene on Airforce One in Independence Day where James Rebhorn's character reveals to the president that they've had aliens at Area 51 since the 50's.

"That's not entirely accurate."

I like the film Air Force One, there are a few bits in that.

Xander Berkeley and Harrison Ford standing by the door discussing how the next president will trust him as well.

Ford yelling "Get off my plane!'

"Liberty-2-4 is changing call signs...Liberty-2-4 is now Air Force One!"

One of my favourites is in Planes, Trains & Automobiles when John Candy and Steve Martin check into the motel room in Witchita. Steve Martin looks at the room, we see a slow pan around past the single bed... then the camera shoots back and focuses on the bed, while a menacing little synth line plays. Subtle, but it slays me every time.

In The Right Stuff. A bunch of test pilots are hanging out watching television coverage of one of the Mercury flights, and ragging on how the astronaut isn't really doing anything. Chuck Yeager pipes up with a compliment for the astronaut and just shuts the whole group up.

In My Favorite Year: Peter O'Toole's character stumbles drunk into a screening room where they are running one of his old movies. His character on-screen is in the midst of a sword duel.

O'Toole (spotting his on-screen opponent): My god! Is that Menzies? I thought he was dead!

(The on-screen duel concludes with O'Toole's character "killing" Menzies.)

O'Toole (continued): Oh. So he is.

Hehe, this just made me think of a lost opportunity in "Independence Day". It would have been neat to have the president using Airforce One as his call sign in the final battle.

Or did he?:shifty: Now I have to go watch it again.

That part in Ghostbusters where Egon is listening to the desk with a stethoscope, and Venkman comes up behind him and raps on the desk and says "Eeeegon" in a spooky voice and Egon gets this really interested look on his face. Cracks me up. That entire sequence is like 5 seconds long. I think I missed that exchange the first few times I saw that movie.
