TOS- Wolf In The Fold. Pretty wacked out!

"Emissary", "A Man Alone", "Past Prologue", "Babel" - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I think, much like early-TNG, early-DS9 gets a bum rap. I think "Emissary" is probably the best pilot from 1987-present. The other three were very entertaining. They don't reinvent the wheel, but they do the job.

"The Doomsday Machine"---one of my top 10, hell top 5 episodes. I loved the remastered version of that episode---I sometimes wonder if the remastering team had fun with that one---it's certainly an episode that had a lot of effects shots.

But it's a top notch episode all around. Great story, great suspense, great music (tied very well to the action).

I just watched The Defector (TNG).

One of my favourite episodes of all time. James Sloyan puts in a riveting performance as the deeply conflicted Admiral Jarok, and Andreas Katsulas (sadly departed) turns the screws once again as Tomalak, our favourite Romulan antagonist.

Best dialogue:

"Do you seriously expect me to accept those terms?"
"NO, Captain Picard, I expect you WON'T!"

I always forget how early in the series run this episode is, being in S3. TNG was really coming in to its own. Still a few stinkers to come before BOBW (I'm looking at you, Menage a Troi) but it was really getting good.

This episode is nearly 30 years old. Yikes!

O'Brien should've been drummed out of the fleet after putting civilians at risk helping Tosk escape.

Spock's Brain (started to watch for stardate research, but I ended up watching the whole thing for some mesmerizing reason.)

1. A Kirk log says stardate 4351.5, but it should be 5431.5 to be in line with the other stardates given in the episode. I assume this was a typing mistake in the script. Third Season laziness in script editing? The other stardate before the error is 5431.4 and after the error are 5431.6 and later 5432.3.

2. What the hell did they do with Advanced Ion Propulsion Starship and the technical data in the Teacher after the episode was over?
