Third season has a higher amount of pure turds, but there are some real gems mixed in as well.

Take out the turds, and I think it may be my fave TOS season. It feels more sophisticated and polished in some ways.

The Conscience of the King (TOS Blu-ray).

"More Tribbles, More Troubles." TAS

I was expecting to not get on with The Animated Series, however, I am pleasantly surprised so far. I find it to be much, much better than most of season 3 TOS. Some good scifi concepts, a good dose of campy TOS humour, and the nature of animation means that the characters and environments can be much more adventurous.
