List Only! Last Star Trek Episode You Watched

TOS “The City on the Edge of Forever” as part of my ongoing TOS rewatch along with the www.rachelwatchesstartrek.com podcast. It’s amazing how both this and the preceding episode, “The Alternative Factor” can both be about the same theme (the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few), yet one get the execution so wrong and the other so right.

DS9 "The Die is Cast" on H&I.
A great second half to a great two parter.
When discovering that there were fake life signs being transmitted and the enemy fleet has arrived. A good commander would have instantly ordered the cloak engaged and to get the Hell out of there.
ENT "The Andorian Incident" on H&I.
Would have been really helpful if Reed had thrown in a stun grenade into the atrium right before blowing the charges.
When the round door to the secret scanning array opens it's obvious that it's in a square frame. Odd.

DS9 "Explorers" on H&I.
So exactly how did the ancient Bajorans get their light ships from the surface of Bajor into orbit? Need some sort of chemical rocket system like we use today. And if they built and launched the light ship in orbit. How did they get up to orbit? Plus the ship has no apparent means to land.
Didn't like Sisko's bit about "Hammock time! Yo!" Really dates the program.
ENT "Breaking the Ice" on H&I.
A comet that small would have ridiculously weak gravity.

"Vaulting Ambition" (Disco)
Finally getting around to watching Disco. Not bad, even if all of the twists have been way too telegraphed.

DS9 "Family Business" on H&I.
Loved it when Quark and Ishka are arguing at the dinner table with Rom and he says something silly. And both Quark and Ishka turn and look at the camera with their mouths agog.
ENT "Civilization" on H&I.
Interesting how the Mallurians in this episode turn out to be a species to be wiped out by the Nomad probe.

"The Empath" - Star Trek

Really enjoyed this one. I wish the newer shows would try things outside the box. Sparse sets, and weird sci-fi concepts.

"The Schizoid Man" TNG on Netflix.
Hadn't seen this one in years. Spiner was great (as always), but pretty much a 'meh' episode. Not bad, but not great.

Just watched TNG "The First Duty". A very enjoyable episode.

Enterprise heads back to Earth for Picard to do the commencement address at Starfleet Academy. Wes and Nova squadron have been involved in an accident.

Classic Picard speech about the first duty of a Starfleet Officer being to the truth, in all aspects of their life. Loved it. And at last, Wes isn't the perfect child prodigy (in fact he is a lying, spineless so and so, until he fronts up). It's good that he was knocked back a year.

Should out for Robert McNeill (Tom Paris) playing Ensign Locarno, the leader of Nova Squadron.

It proves that for all your smarts, you can still make a stupid choice. Wesley learns you can't skate by on your status as a wunderkind or Enterprise-D's captain's pet.
