NASA sent 'test' ships up from the ground and if you think about it "Enterprise" parallels our real time right now. We don't have a Space Dock or an Orbital Research Station big enough to build a ship out there. Voyager was built to land on the ground so it probably was sent up from Earth. NASA's Space Station up there is just not compatible with building a ship from scratch so whenever they get their new "Enterprise" done, it will probably take off from a Military Air Base into space. I believe the space suits with NASA do connect and I think I saw the helmets definately connect on 'Enterprise'. They did in later episodes.DS9 "Vortex" on H&I.
Odo is referred to as 'changeling' for the first time.
So Odo can become something as small as a glass. So does that mean when he's in humanoid form that he's almost completely hollow inside?
ENT "First Flight" on H&I.
Why would the test ships be launched from the ground? Wouldn't it be easier and safer to have them stored on orbit at a orbital research station?
Odd that the pilots' helmets don't physically connect to their astronaut type suits.
