In an ideal world the Cardassian system makes sense; only the guilty are apprehended and tried, and the people could take comfort in the efficiency and swiftness of the law. My favorite part of this episode was O'brien's lawyer, Conservator Kovat.

An excellent second half to an excellent two parter.

TOS "Dagger of the Mind," a pretty harrowing episode. Helen Noel is one of the better Starfleet Officer guest character. I can never quite figure out what Dr. Adams purpose is though.

An odd story about Sisko building an ancient Bajoran lightship. Which apparently doesn't have the ability to land. So I guess the ancient Bajorans had their own space station to build things at.

So if Bariel is said to be "walking with the Prophets" and he's dead. Then Winn's telling Kira to "walk with the Prophets" should mean she's wishing Kira was dead.

DS9-The Search Part I. The Defiant makes her glorious debut. The crew gets new communicators, Michael Eddington joins the station, and Odo discovers his people. This episode has some great action sequences and Jay Chattaway's best score since The Inner Light. On the downside Odo acts like a tempermental baby and there's some real clunky lines in the script. With all that's going on did we need to have a scene where Jadzia tells Sisko how passionate he is, and how he would never be satisfied being an Admiral?

STAR TREK 2009

This movie has held up very well. In fact, I'm noticing that the minor flaws that were so obvious before, are no longer a factor in my enjoyment of it. For example, the interrogation of Pike and it's homage to TWoK with its similar bug-usage annoyed me, somewhat, in the past ... but no longer. I completely enjoy this feature, as many STAR TREK fans have and do. It's very disappointing to me how the film series is gravitating towards becoming more like TOS than how it began. TOS is available & accessible. It's on TV. You can buy it, if you like. It's not going anywhere. But we've done that ... you know? Let the reboots stand apart from TOS. I would've changed even more in ST09 to make it more fresh and different and that's certainly what the commercials for it promised, at the time. But, as I say, the movie is aging very nicely. It's excellent popcorn fare ...
