2009 Star Trek on Friday with commercials, then "The Vulcan Hello" last night. (don't have cable or internet streaming) I've never watched the first episode of a series on season premiere night before.
I found the whole thing...I don't know. Michael seems to have a problem with everyone else, her captain goes from "wanna be a captain?" to "I'm gonna shoot you" in hardly any time. And was she only faking being knocked out by the Vulcan pinch? I notice that the classroom is like the one young Spock was in in '09 - was that a creation of the '09 film or mentioned in a book before? Sarek was expecting a call from somebody, he sure answered her fast. And he can lean on a desk that isn't where he is. Isn't it undignified when he could stand?

After seeing Frain's version of Sarek in DSC, I had to see the classic Mark Lenard portrayal again, and it was as great and perfect as I had remembered.
I was waiting for Amanda to ask Spock if he had spoken to his brother or step-sister lately..
