ENT: The Forge
This episode isn't that great, I'm finally noticing. Vaughn Armstrong's acting generally sucks in ENT - I do not care for how he delivers dialogue. He's boring and slightly goofy as Admiral Forrest and I was glad to see the character get killed off. It forgives many of this episode's sins, as does Syrran. Perhaps in sympathy with the Admiral, the planet Vulcan, itself, is depicted in a very boring and slightly goofy manner.
Screeching sehlats that don't do anything but gallop. Rocks that zap metal objects. And just the look of the planet in General, it looks like a rock quarry, seen through an orange filter. But the episode itself has no heart. It's just tons of exposition, punctuated by useless, uninteresting "action" bits. The Vulcan administrator and his sidekick had to go, too. At least the Vulcan Stonn, in TOS, even with his minimal dialogue, had an intensity to him. Not so with these other two ...
