Let's predict The Doctor's Demise!

I guess as long as Ten isn't shot by gang members, then operated on by a 20th century medical team who have no idea what a Time Lord is, let alone how to treat one medically, it will be good...

;)

Actually, I have always really enjoyed the fact that no one ever beat the 7th Doctor. It was just random human incompetence that ended his life... ;)
so what his regeneration will be a crossover with Grey's Anatomy?

not sure where to put this but I had a 10th Doctor dream last night, David Tennant was hosting Mock the Week, funny stuff

I'm going to be sorely disappointed if it's not because he trips over a brick. That's the type of foreshadowing I love.

I know it's not going to be that because RTD can't seem to do subtle or simplistic and the Doctor is going to go out saving the entire multiverse, but that doesn't change what I'd prefer to happen.

It'll be a brick...a cosmically powered, Dalek super brick yes, but a brick nontheless...

And RTD can be subtle and simplistic, he just chooses not to most of the time...that's probably the thing that infuriates me most about him

Just imagine how awesome the scene could be, though. The Doctor is walking down Main Street, Wherever while talking incessently about who-knows-what to who-cares-who. The camera is following along side them when, out of nowhere, the Doctor just disappears from the scene while the other guy continues along for a moment. Then, suddenly, there's a flash of light and a new guys jumps up, muttering about shoddy construction habits the continues on with his one-sided conversation as if nothing happened.

I just hope that The Moff will be responsible for writing his regeneration...

I doubt it. RTD will want to write his Doctor's exit, surely. It won't just be Doctor 10's last moment, but his own as a writer/producer.

Or maybe Moff will at least write 11's first line?

RTD should sneakily make Doc 11's first utterance "Oh.. I'm a paedophile". Just as little parting gift to the incoming producers.

yes im thinking the regeneration will be similar to Parting of the Ways, after the battle, unlike Journeys End, and RTD will write up to the regeneration, and Moff will write after the regeneration.

Thats what occured to me.

Although, id prefere it if it wasnt like Parting of the Ways. Because it will seem too similar. We need to see a big moment for one of the most popular Doctors for decades, he needs a good exit. Something like The Caves of Androzani where the doctor is fatally wounded but still manages to take his companion to the safety of the Tardis before finally falling victim to his regeneration to save his life, couple that with 'Parting of the ways' and we have a decent regeneration story to develop.

Im possitive that RTD will write 'His' doctor out. Maybe itll be a cop-out and disapointment but maybe it wont, well have to wait and see. I do like the idea, however, of RTD writing upto the moment of regeneration and Moffat writing the very first words for Matt Smith to utter as the regen settles.

Or again, as said once or twice before, a COMPLETELY SUDDEN UNEXPECTED EVENT OF DEATH could occur and The Doctor has to regenerate without even realising it and the story carries on until it hits him and he goes through the regen-psychosis.

I thought #9 was "his" Doctor.

I really dont think you can do it any other way. I would have both Moff & RTD write the 10s final episode, maybe even have him regenerate half way though, and save the day as 11, in a way that gives us a really good look at the new Doctor.

Hmmm....if he's going to regenerate in one of the Specials...the specials where he has no permanent companion...will he die with one of those temps? Or, will he meet the 11th Doctor's new companion before exploding into a twenty-six-year-old? Or...and this is the one I'm particularly fond of...will he die saving the world/universe, but die alone?

^ another good reason for Moff to co write the episode, so he can write the new companion. I wouldn't be surprised if the last specail is with someone we already know.

I like the idea of Nine regenerating with someone there, even if it is a past companion such as Martha or even Cap'n Jack, even better if Sarah Jane is there, how cool would that be.

Actually, if Ten does die alone, it gives Moffat the perfect vehicle he needs to start over, with out that excess baggage of someone seeing him regenerate. I bet thats the way he choses to do it.

Its the perfect blank canvas that he can work on.

Well, Chris and David are both 'His' Doctors. When Chris announced he was leaving, they drafted in Tennant, someone they had also considered for the ninth Doctor in the first place. So, in essence, they are both 'His' Doctors as they had scramble and recast before Chris finnished filming his bit.

I think its always nice if there is a bit of a crossover of companion, but the circumstances make it kind difficult here I guess. Having said that I'm assuming Matt Smith and his new companion will start filming long before the last special is filmed (or at least the filming will be contemporaneous) so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility for Moffat to slip his companion to RTD for one special...that said obviouslyRTD will want to choose his own companion for the last ep I guess...but there's no reason Moffat couldn't let the 10th Doc's last companion slide over to the first one or two eps of the 11th's reign...seems doubful and a clean break probably is for the best-having said that maybe as suggested someone like Sarah Jane/ JAck or-I can't beleive I'm saying this :)) Martha could bear witness to the changeover.
