Re: Less than a year away + we know nothing about this film/ No market
Obscure, niche properties don't take $500M.

I think it may still be a bit early to be looking for much buzz. (I do seem to recall similar concerns being expressed around October* during the lead-up to the last movie.)I'm wondering how much of the buzz (or lack thereof) for this film is being obscured by the fact that MUCH MUCH larger films are opening before it.
Even within my own bubble of Trek friends nobody is really talking about nor caring about Beyond and by-in-large they all liked the first two films.

I'm watching the film anyway, so I don't need any synopsis, spoilers or hints.
It always amazes me that a show about the future has a fanbase that's so stuck in the past.
It's 2015. Star Trek is an obscure, niche property that no one outside of this forum really cares about. There's not going to be any buzz.
Inasmuch as you had any point to make here, -Brett-, I think it can be now considered made, and you may safely retire.

I have made up a whole story in my head already. I hardly need to see the movie!I wish we could get some synopsis at least.
General buzz for TFA was kicked off by the trailer. A kick-ass trailer for BEY (yes, I'm calling it that!), once they have some of the CGI finalised, could have a similar effect.Even within my own bubble of Trek friends nobody is really talking about nor caring about Beyond and by-in-large they all liked the first two films.
There will be a Super Bowl trailer.

As you are funding the film, I will take your word for it.

But one more thing before you go. Things like this?Don't post them.-Brett- said:"It always amazes me that a show about the future has a fanbase that's so stuck in the past."
Swipes at other fans and/or fan groups are completely unnecessary, they add nothing of any value to the discussion, and they may be considered trolling.
Just don't do that, 'K?
