Legend of the Seeker anyone?

Well, it isn't LotR-ish at all, but if the HBO/BBC production of Song of Ice and Fire goes though, we'll certainly have a mature, adult fantasy series to enjoy in the near future. One huge plus for translating it to screen is how little magic there is in it, to the point that most people in the world would never encounter it. What little there is is so subdued that there will be no need to tone it down for a TV budget. . . the battles and sets however are certainly going to keep those budgets high.

I digress though, and agree about Pushing Daisies.

Anyone know when they'll have a proper trailer out for this thing? If this teaser is in fact more of a 'proof of concept' demo reel, as I've heard tossed about, I'd be very interested to see what the actual pilot's footage looks like.

I would love to see this. I Haven't read A Feast For Crows yet but it's on my list.

It's too bad The Sword of Truth didn't get the HBO or Showtime treatment.

I've heard good things about this show. If my busy schedule allows I'll try to watch the first episode.

Yeah someday I'd like to see the fantasy genre done without broadcast/basic cable restrictions on content. LOTR meets Deadwood. ;)

There are two new photos over on the Terry Goodkind site.

From the photos I've seen, it looks like it's all starting to take shape.

Still looks dreadfully generic. Maybe the HBO approach is what's needed to finally kick the fantasy genre up a couple notches into being something interesting. Like what RDM's BSG did for sci fi.

Or in other words - let's hope the Song of Ice and Fire production goes through ...

Still doesn't look like it a look that stands out from other Fantasy stories, but maybe once I see the Boundary, the Mud People, and the D'haran Palace I'll change my mind.

As of fan of Hercules/Xena and Sam Raimi in general, I'm definitely gonna give this show a shot.

^Yes, he looks far too young. He doesn't look very physically imposing either.

They just posted some new promos (3) featuring the actual voices of the characters over at the Legend of the Seeker site.

These are pretty cool. Watch one of them pretty closely. I think it's the Zedd one. Interesting creature, but only for a couple of frames.

I'm afraid I still think it looks pretty cheesy and awful - and not just because I'm now a bit of a Goodkind hater. I'll definitely give it a watch though - I owe the books that much.

Richard's voice sounds too gentle to me, especially the part about "destiny". I thought he was a woods guide, not a poet. Also something about the intonation just seems off to me, but I can't figure out exactly what.

Not to draw away from the promos (which look good), but couldn't the website have come up with a better advertising phrase than "An exciting new T.V. series?" That sounds about as "exciting" as a bologna sandwich.

And Richard still needs chest hair if he wants to wave that big sword around.

He does sound kinda soft. Maybe even a bit of an aboriginal accent going on. Is he CanadianÉ

Nevermind, he`s Australian.

Zedd's promo is the coolest I think. He's pretty much exactly what I picture a wizard would look like. :D And the shameless romantic in me totally likes Kahlan's promo. :o :D

So, umm. . . We're pretending this poster isn't here purely to advertise right? Do I get a cut or something? I'm confused as to how this works.

Only if you watch the show, probably. ;)

The guy said right off the bat that he's trying to get a read on interest in the show:

Full disclosure: I'm trying to get a feel for interest in the new Sam Raimi-produced show "Legend of the Seeker." The show has some Star Trek connections, namely Ken Biller (Voyager) and Mike Sussman (Voyager, Enterprise).

There's not really a need to be rude to him because of that, is there really?

Personally, I wish I had someone to keep a lookout for new promos/pics/interviews from all of the shows I watch.
