LEETA

I've met her - she did a personal appearance at a shop I worked in.

She was lovely, both in looks and personality. I always really enjoyed the Rom / Leeta stuff and her performances were spot on.

She’s a bad actress, and I’m pretty sure not a very good human being. I think I hate her more than Bariel and Hitler.

I'd just like to pause for a moment and let you ponder over the fact that you just compared a random actress to Adolf Hitler.

I demand to know who/what is "Bariel" and how I can measure his/her/its evilness against that of Hitler and/or Chase Masterson.

I remember the actress that played Leeta posted on this board a while back.

The mean mods stupidly banned her because they didn't think it was her, but she came back after proving who she was.

I remember people here were really insulting towards her.

I met Chase Masterson at a friend's birthday party in April. A delightful woman, warm, friendly and with lots of interesting ideas and things to say.

Many of us would do well to not judge a person based on what we (barely) know of others from television.

don't hold back, tell us what you really think.

I'm going to go out on a limb, here...and label this sexist pinhead a typical troll and spammer, who just wants to set people off.

You can tell by the fact that: A) said pinhead is only a cadet--meaning he's never contributed before--who somehow feels entitled to being extremely provocative (in the bad sense); and B) said pinhead's only post is filled with attacks as hominem as they are nauseam--not to mention reducto ad Hitlerum. (Hitler, dude? Really?)

BTW...Miss Masterson does still post here, on occasion. She makes it a point to leave for a very long time, whenever some nutcase does something completely sexist and chauvinistic (such as posting naked pics of themselves; or just making generally X-rated comments) on the thread she was on.

Just sayin'....

(In before the lock, BTW.)

Wow, Lando Griffin! Over-react much?

I have issues with the character of Leeta (though on the whole I like her), but I certainly don't think that makes Ms. Masterson a horrible human being.

And, yeah, seriously with the Hitler reference?! You just compared Leeta and Bariel, two fictional characters from a TV show (who just so happen to be "good guys") to freaking Hitler. Really?!

And yeah, the woman does still post here - something the mods are very touchy about. So, in before the (justly deserved) lock.

I :adore: Chase Masterson. She's just as sweet and polite in person as the character she portrayed on DS9.

I really liked Leeta. To me, her character was a bit different than other Trek charcters in a way. A bit carefree, a free spirit type. She was intelligent and wanted more out of life than just being a dabo girl. Her and Rom were great together. Not a bad looking chick either.

A very solid secondary character, and had a bit more than good looks. She was great in Doctor Bashir I Presume? There was Louis Zimmerman yakking away about opportunities, and then he said something which interested Leeta, and she walks out stark naked into the room which Zimmerman was in.

Then a few seconds later she realizes, and goes 'oh'. Really funny, noticed Zimmerman giving a good stare.

I like the way they made Leeta smart in Facets she knew a lot about Trills. I always like the character, and the actress appears to be very talented.

Welcome aboard, defiantfan!

And yes...Leeta is an amazing character. Some may hate her for being "backwards", but they are backwards, themselves. She is a brilliant character, unashamed of her femininity, proud to be a woman--and she is comfortable in herself.

Aren't you giving the writers a bit too much credit there? She didn't have all that much personality.* The character was more about cleavage and being a funny sidekick to a funny sidekick (Rom).

* Well, maybe that's what you mean when you say "unashamed of her femininity"?
