Indeed. Quark himself figured this out by "Profit and Lace", when as Lumba, he brilliantly laid out for Nilva how rights for women would be a BIG economic boost.

But I suspect, subconsciously, he knew it from the beginning. He marketed the drinks of his bar to women along with men, didn't he?

Now, if anybody wants to talk about Leeta some more, I'm game.

I'd say Leeta's a good capitalist, when it counts. In "Dr. Bashir, I Presume?" she is quite eager to take Zimmerman up on his offer, and run a small business (the cafe).

Which is exactly what I feel about the character in all aspects - she's good when it counts. A lot of times she can come off as nothing but eye candy and even she is okay with that, but when push comes to shove she shows that there's more to her.

Yeah I really liked Leeta too and then when I actually met Chase I had a crush on her in real life.

I ran into her at Quark's Bar in Vegas along with Dean Haglund (X-Files) back in '06 before the place was closed down. They were both cool, friendly people. She was very nostalgic about DS9 and missed the show a lot. I also remember she was a major force behind the Save Enterprise campaign.

I guess it's not surprising that there would be nutjob crazies on the forums here who are a little detached from reality. It's da Intarwebz after all!
