I don't understand why there has to be such division and acrimony over these matters. Honestly, if you stop to think about it rationally, there's no reason why an apocalypse couldn't include the raping of childhoods; personally, I think it would be thematically appropriate.

The author opted to throw something into the mix. It wasn't the focus of the plot, and neither are the other examples you're using to drive this discussion.

Well it should be! I demand seeing Star Trek: The Lost Era 2365. TNG Uniforms: From Onesie to Twosie ASAP!

^ Well, heck, you've been missing out on all the best parts!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to debate whether the teaser trailer for the new Trek film is actually a heralding of the pending apocalypse or is just something of a smaller scale, such as a simple raping of our childhoods.
It could be both . . . I'm just saying. OK, OK, it's the voices in my head that are saying. But they've been wrong before. Like when they told me I had to kill :censored:. Man, that was a relief, believe you me.

How about the story of how three years sitting at a desk being an admiral made Kirk's hairline change? Or how the Romulans decided to break even further from the Vulcans by suddenly growing brow ridges? Or all, and I mean all, the details of when Data showed Yar he was "fully functional"?
