Last movie you saw?

"The Gambler" with Mark Wahlberg
Thought was quite good, but couldn't quite fathom the financial logistics at the end and how he solved all his problems

Let's see ....
  • Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker on Bluray .... Pacing issues and trying to cram 2 movies into 1 really hurts this otherwise good movie. Bluray picture quality and sound was far superior to any streaming service.
  • Zombieland II over on Starz .... Fun little popcorn romp, enjoyed it more than I thought I would
  • Spiderman: Far from Home on Starz .... Probably the best Spiderman movie made..

I watched War Dogs the other night on Hulu. I think I only ever saw the trailer one time, so it was a surprise to me to see Bradley Cooper show up, until I got to the end credits and saw it was directed by Todd Phillips. And the movie itself, which is "based on a true story," was surprisingly entertaining.

Rascal Does not Dream of a Dreaming Girl — the Bunny Girl Senpai film.

Enjoyable, but significantly worse than the t.v. series whereupon it was based; Sakuta's character felt a lot weaker and differently characterized; he came across as more easily startled and panicked and most of the entertaining dynamic he had with Mai was gone.

Code 8 over on Netflix, one of their 'Originals'. Enjoyable for the most part, a bit paint by the numbers sci-fi plot though. Not really complaining, I liked it, even though it's pretty forgettable.

Last two movies I've watched on TV
"Interstellar"
Mind bending, and a bit of a bore to be honest, my favourite genre, and this is one of my least favourites in the genre
"No Country For Old Men"
Enjoyed what I could understand of it, what is the moral here ?
Was it really just that old timer Sheriffs and guys like Llewellin were simply out of their depths against the oncoming tide of tougher, more ruthless hombres ?
Was it that simple ?
Because apart from the difficulty in making out what Jones and Brolin were mumbling half the time, I lost the timeline and location of the film, and the ending was just like, wtf ?

Yeah, I personally don't get the love the movie gets. I remember feeling cold on it when I watched it. Then again, I've found the Cohen Brothers to be hit and miss with me, as I think the only movie I've ever really liked of theirs was their True Grit remake.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Well, I guess that brings the main storyline to a close. I wonder where the franchise goes next?

The last movie I saw was Skyscraper. I liked it. It’s funny how in a sense these type of action movies are actually family movies with violent struggle. I came to understand as the feel good moment arrived (when the family is safe and reunited) that every movie or tv show I like is a celebration of the family.

:adore:one of the best films I've seen in awhile...

I think Jaws 2 is ok, it's really not a surprise it wasn't as good as the original
No Dreyfus was a major disappointment, him and Scheider had a real screen chemistry in the first one
Every time I watch it I secretly hope the shark gets those insufferable geek boat kids

Yeah, I felt very similar about the kids. Also, very much didn't learn the lesson from the first movie to show the shark as little as possible. And the way Scheider kills the shark at the end was very, very B-Movie.

Finally watched Jay & Silent Bob Reboot. Don't really get the hate, I really liked it. But then, I also liked Yoga Hosers.

Watched Extraction over on Netflix. Was an enjoyable popcorn action movie romp. Recommended.
