Last movie you saw?

All the President's Men is on T.V at the moment, I need to see this movie from the beginning. What a shame Redford aged so badly, to see him now...

Finally watched Coco on Netflix. It was a sweet movie. I shed some tears near the end. I'm not sure I'd rate it very high amongst all of the Pixar films though. I can't quite explain why, but it just felt like something was missing to me. I liked the colors, design, characters, etc. but it didn't really grab me.

Had insomnia last night so got up and watched The Fourth Man, which I've been looking for a decent copy of for several years. Wow! Fantastic film and easily my favorite Verhoeven film (but of course it's from before he went Hollywood, Robocop still rocks though):

SOLO on DVD. First time seeing it. I don't know why it did so badly at the box office. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as some say. It's certainly better than The Last Jedi. Sure, L3 was annoying with her constant "Droid Rights!" spouting but thankfully that nonsense was kept to a minimum.

Yeah, in some ways, Solo ended up doing certain things better than TLJ did. And when it was fun, it was fun. The thing I could have done without was the cameo at the end though. It just felt so random and was kind of stupid to do on a mainstream movie where half the audience probably wouldn't have been aware of the character's existence. But on the whole, I was pretty impressed at how much the actor ended up looking and feeling like a young Harrison Ford.

I agree. Solo wasn't near as bad as the box office and most people say, it was way better than TLJ.
And at the end I kept thinking, how could the boss survive the dissection, fall and excape.

Yeah, hence why I was being vague about it :)

Honestly, it's probably my favourite Pixar movie. It's just so heartfelt and probably has the most adult themes with concepts kids wouldn't necessarily grasp. My first time hearing the song was during the Oscars and I hadn't cared for it due to the performance, but I fell in love with it in context with the movie.

The Shadow. Don't know what it says about me, but I love this movie to bits, from the pulpy mystery adventure feel over Russel Mulcahy's beautiful cinematography, the many familiar faces in even the smallest roles, right up to Taylor Dayne's epic theme song.

The Greatest Showman for the 8th time. If someone could stop my Mrs addiction to it I would be happy.

I love the Fifth Element and all, but my ex used to watch it ALL THE TIME! I bet I've seen at least most of it nearly a hundred times. I've seen it all the way through at least ten times. Probably more.

My Mrs must have seen the Greatest Showman 40 times this year. When i'm working on my laptop and she has it on, I obviously hear it and end up watching a fair bit of it, probably 8 times all the way through. I know most of the songs, the character names, even much of the dialogue, I haven't even seen most of my own favourite films 8 times! She's even bought the sing along version now, with the words along the bottom of the screen during songs....like she didnt already know the words.

Kicked off the horror challenge with The Endless, which totally ties into Resolution (2012) , by the same writer/directors.
Both very good films imho...

Watched Star Wars: Solo on Tuesday evening when my Bluray arrived. I've grown to like it even more on the second viewing. The bonus features disk was chocked full of goodies.... All in all, I really cannot understand why this movie was panned as bad as it was. It was a well done, fun little romp of a movie.

The Killer Reserved Nine Seats (1974)

Not bad as far as gialli go, but not phenomenal either... i.e. 6/10 rating. ;)
