Jeri, btw, im sure you've seen that video where he imitates Eric Bana saying, "Hello Christopher" (the line from the movie). Not only does he do a great impersonation, but that voice is pure velvet.

It perfectly illustrates their different approaches to acting, Zach's more laid back and Chris (by his own admission) tends to be more obsessive (which I can totally relate to). And it's obvious that the reception he got when he was introduced hurt him. The best revenge he can get is for the movie to do well.
And I have got to see the "My mother was human" line again so I can giggle inappropriately next time.
^The funny thing was I'd just gotten home from acting class last night when I watched that clip. Our teacher was talking last night about working into the wee hours on set, and how fatigue can zap an actor's energy. He kept telling us to stop, shake it out, and go loose after each take.

I could swear i see Quinto right on the edge of cracking up in the scene with Pegg (where he asks for a towel). If you watch it on the movie site where they have the trailers....well, i dont know if i am looking for it at this point, but he really does look like he is using every power he has NOT to laugh!

I wish I could remember the interview where he said it, but Quinto did say that the towel line wasn't in the script, and the first time Pegg said it, Qunito did laugh, I think. Whether he broke character and laughed or not, I can't remember for certain, but he at least found it very amusing. So you're probably correct in your observation!
I just dug that trailer up again. When you go to the official st site, and go to trailers, its the one titled "answer me"-- after Pegg says his line, it really does look like Quinto is on the brink. Of course, i probably wouldnt think that had they not told us in interviews how hard it was to do that scene with a straight face! OR perhaps, that was the most serious take they could get!
