La Sirena

So do all crew quarters have a holo-emitters? Pretty interesting concept, especially on starships on deep space assignments and you want a feeling of home. Want a rustic cabin, or a mid 20th century New York apartment look? No problem.

Some may prefer the sterile look of a starship, but I like the idea of crew quarters being customizable.

La Sirena has grown on me, I like the ship. Will probably be a lockbox ship very soon in ST:O's future.

interesting observation from ex astris scientia...
the la sirena's engines glow bright when she enters orbit of vashti:

but the engines are turned off, showing red impulse engines, when she's just hanging out in orbit:

How illegal all that is... Depends. The Maquis weren't supposed to have heavy guns on their ships, but that already came with the territory, literally: they were explicitly and exceptionally forbidden from parking anything heavily armed on their planets in the DMZ. Elsewhere, Federation colonists and traders often carried infantry weapons, with nary a comment, but their spacecraft were basically never seen.

Back in the 2150s, the Boomers weren't supposed to arm their ships, but that was centuries ago, under a different rule altogether...

In Open space, it's pretty much "Anything Goes" and "You're on your own" when shit goes down.
I'd suggest being well armed, even if you're a civilian ship and even if it's person to person combat.

The Prometheus Class had White/Blue impulses on the aft of the saucer section in certain screen shots. I bet it's a factor of the temperture of the impulse exhaust.

Dark red (first visible glow): 500 to 600 °C (900 to 1,100 °F)
Dull red: 600 to 800 °C (1,100 to 1,650 °F)
Bright cherry red: 800 to 1,000 °C (1,650 to 1,800 °F)
Orange: 1,000 to 1,200 °C (1,800 to 2,100 °F)
Bright yellow: 1,200 to 1,400 °C (2,100 to 2,500 °F)
White: 1,400 to 1,600 °C (2,500 to 2,900 °F)

I noticed this on a rewatch last night. I like the second shot a lot better. Always having the bloom turned up high is an odd choice.

Canonically, those glowing bits aren't rocket nozzles, they are tailpipes. Them puffing out hot-glowing stuff even when the ship is standing still is only to be expected.

What's cool (or perhaps hot) there is that pair of panels on the insides of the lower tail stings: they glow blue when the ship is idled, not when she's moving... Goes well with the idea that there's always power flowing out, and if it doesn't go to the engines, it needs to go into illumination!

Oh Nice! Thanks for the link, some terrific observations and captures there.

Totally missed La Sirena emblem on the head rest.

Another nice new lingering exterior shot.
Besides the obvious catamaran parallels, I sometimes get a flying sea-turtle vibe from this ship.

And now we know where the medical bay is in relation to everything else...
Yeah! It all seems very compact, as the rooms and main two floors are connected.
They just lead one into the other.

Some new shots. It does look like the medical bay just extends connects right off the main mes/crew area.

Flip side medical bay looking out towards the mes. (also the ladder running to the main floor)

Also the medical bay has windows to the outside (if anyone wants to highlight them if they exist on a corresponding exterior shot, I'm curious how well they planed it out)

Great shot from above, hard to tell if that's a whole other floor bellow them, some engineering level, or just a view into innards of the ship.

And the reverse view looking up, the mes just opens into the main well on the top floor.
Looks like there is a bay (sky-light) window right above, Not sure if it has a corresponding window on the exterior "roof" if anyone wants to highlight it? .

Love this low angel of the main bridge.

Ship's got some lousy-ass sensors if another ship that's within spitting distance of it is at the limit of their range.

We never see the Romulan ship from the Sirena, only a (computer zoomed) view of Sirena from the Romulan ship. But I can see where the confusion comes from.
