News Kurtzman On The Future Of Star Trek

Since the other new Trek shows take place in the 23rd and 24th centuries, continuity problems of the Disco S1/2 kind will continue on through Kurtzman Trek. Either get used to it, or it's gonna be a miserable 5 years...
Except the Picard show is set after everything else, so there's still pretty much free reign there.

I actually think the Klingon redesign was more Fuller's push than Kurtzman's.
I agree with this point, but Kurtzman is the scapegoat/punching bag now for Trek fandom.

Poor guy.

What continuity issues should I be expecting with Picard? What issues am I to anticipate with Discovery in the future?

Just wait. There won't be. It will contradict something from the last episode of Voyager, or Nemesis, or something else, and it will be #NotRealStarTrek all over again.
It will be that regardless. It could perfectly respect STO plotlines, and reference novels and AGT and still fall short of being real Trek.

Until they do a story that contradicts something that happened during the run of TNG, then nerd rage will flow.

Wouldn't be the first time that happened in Trek.

David and Carol are pretty big additions to Kirk's backstory that came out of nowhere.
And what about the Cardassian War in TNG?
How many wars or near wars did the Federation have in TNG? I recall the Cardassian one, the Talerians at least.

Them: Real Trek Shall Rise Again!
Me: You realize you hated "Endgame" and Nemesis at the time, right? Why should you care if they're amended?
Them: They were classics! I always thought so!
Me: No you didn't.

I look forward to all of it and hope we can get past just having full show seasons or shorts. Some miniseries or even tele-movies during different time periods would be nice too. Trek universe is full of potential for this kind of thing.

People will still complain. Complaining comes as naturally to Trekkies as scratching stuff up comes to cats.

Cats are kinda like the trekkies of pets. Both are fussy, demanding, sometimes hate going outside, attention seeking, and enjoy shitting on things you like when you piss them off.

Having said that I do prefer cats to trek fans.

I don't even think it has to be something big to be honest. For all we know, it might be something absolutely weightless like Picard mentioning in passing he had met a new admiral character as a young Lieutenant on a mission to Cardassia a few weeks after the Dominion War ended, and some people will yell all over the internet in all caps how this is impossible as he was supposed to spend his 318-day shore leave on Ba'ku that he talked about at the end of Insurrection at that exact time, and how this proves once again that Kurtzman/CBS has no respect for teh canonz, it's ruined forever and it's #NotRealStarTrek.

While Mumbler and Foley Catheter on TrekYards will debate the number of rivets on the leading edge of the port nacelle strut of the shuttle Picard is riding in, sigh very long and loudly at the webcam while trying to explain to viewers, that eps conduits, that are a real thing, just can't possibly fit in that structure AND have room for the thermocoupled spurving bearings of the interocited turboencabulator, and just another sign that the new shows are letting fans down.

And the youtube comments will clammer for TOS season 5 when men ere men and gorns were gorns and green women were green.
