Kilmer's political career is dependent on whether current Governor Bill Richardson gets a position in the Obama administration.

We're also assuming that Kilmer will still need to worry about his employment on Knight Rider by the time he's running for governor. Unless the "soft reboot" brings a huge and sustained ratings jump, this show is most likely toast at the end of the season.
