I finally caught an episode of this show. And Man! Was it LAME. The lead guy (Michael) cant act. And also the guy who played the villian threatening to blow up the bomb...Cant Act. WOW This show is an even bigger POS that Bionic Woman...
Holy Crap...
I cant even believe this shows on the air...
Did I say LAME?

^I'd stopped watching this, but thanks to this thread, I will go watch it now.

I'm hoping the retool breathes some life back into the show.

Otherwise I'm done.

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

Ok I broke down and saw it... and damn, why wasn't the show written this well from the start?

I believe a lot has to do with Dave Andron being the writer. He wrote the pilot movie, which, while panned by many actually had some of the best elements carried over into the show. He knows how to focus on KITT and Mike and he knows how to stick good dramatic moments in.

The shame of it is that I agree with the above statement so much. Had it been written like this from the start, I think the ratings would have kept more stable and the critics would have not been *as* harsh (I still think they would have bashed it on being 'just another 80's remake').

Next week should be awesome. :)

KARR- KITT MUST DIE!!!

random fan walks by- actually its on the brink of cancellation if your episode doesn't do well.

KARR- My Bad

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

A very good episode and a very good conclusion to this two parter.

I continue to enjoy KR, it's fun.

So how many more episodes do we have ? And is the cancelation final yet or is there some remote hope for the show ?

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

And next week KITT vs. Optimus Prime! I wonder if Karr is also a vehicle and not just a robot?

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

Ok, that episode was a LOT more like it.

If every episode had been like that this show would be much closer to "must see TV."

I rate it Excellent and hope this trend continues and the series recovers from the ratings slumps and NBC continues to give it a chance to make it.

I mean, really, that was much improved over the first handful of episodes.

I will say this, that C-130 was built pretty well.

It assumes great damage from the brushing with the overpass, then goes to nearly DOUBLE its flight altitude and then into an uncontrolled dive yet it survives. :)

And it does all that because Gus the pilot "says so". :)

Pay attention to the new opening credits and you'll see the schematics for KARR, which indeed show a vehicular mode.

Also, if you can view streaming video, go to NBC.com and watch the earlier episode (Halloween) where KITT displays schematics of KARR.

It had a lesser form of the molecular bonded shell ;)

Like someone else said, my favorite part was Mike going through the plant with the silencer, as KITT told him the bad guy's positions ("1 o-clock, high... 6 o-clock, low...").

THAT's the kind of serious, badass attitude I'd like to see more on this show, both from Mike and KITT. Just because it's a show about a talking car doesn't mean you have to play the whole thing for laughs.

Were those real bullets or were they something that just knocked everyone out? If they were bullets and everyone is dead including the main bad guy that is pretty bad ass for Knight Rider.

Nothing was said about special bullets I believe.
As far as I know they are all dead.

Oddly (given the tone of everything else) this series is pretty ruthless when it comes time for Mike to actually take someone out.

He's former Special Forces and as such he should be expected to whoop some ass.

Well, they'd have to be the special kind of insta-kill bullets that only exist in TV and movies. In real life, unless you're shot in the brain or brainstem, you can keep going for several minutes after being shot, and therefore continue to be a threat. Dying from a bullet wound is a slow, messy business.

I suppose it's possible that Mike shot them all in the brainstems, but he'd have to have amazingly good aim for that, especially with that shot he took using the rear-view mirror. So he was probably using magic TV-action-show bullets that kill bad guys instantly with no blood. Or else the bad guy was using magic TV-action-show henchmen who drop dead instantly with no blood. These can probably be ordered from the same place as the TV-action-show cars that are guaranteed to explode whenever they collide with anything or come into contact with even the tiniest spark. (I was actually pleasantly surprised when the policeman's motorcycle didn't explode upon crashing.)

Re: Knight Rider 1x11 "Day Turns into Knight" - Discussion and Spoiler

I "love" the act of a bullet to anywhere on the body killing people in movies/TV.

The best example of this I can think of comes in the movie "Die Hard" where John shoots one of the terrorists through a conference table. The handful or so of John's bullets strike the terrorist in the legs and the terroist dies.

Well, we are talking about a tv show, not reality, so instant death-bullets don't bother me. Especially in a show like KR. ;)
